Giveaway Thread! Posted August 5, 2008
Who wants a hankie? Who wants a cookbook?
The time has come again to give a little token something back to a few of my readers. I’m going to embroider three more hankies to mail out next week. There have been so many great comments and so many of you have tried my recipes, I don’t know where to begin!
The main requirement for winning a hankie is this : You have to give me your mailing address. Without it, I embroider a nice little hankie for you, iron it, wrap it in tissue paper, put it in a little envelope, and it sits collecting dust on top of my computer desk. Now that’s no life for a poor little hankie to have to live! So, if you’d like to win a hankie just comment behind this post and you’ll be in the running for now and the next time I give out a hankie.
I’ll also be giving out my cookbook soon. The proof is on its way to me as we speak and I expect to have it in my hands by weeks end. Once I okay that, production of the first order will be complete in about a week’s time. Which means, in approximately two weeks, I’ll have cookbooks in hand! I will be selling them through my website as well as giving one as a prize from time to time. There are over three hundred family recipes in this book. The size is six by nine, but with all these recipes, it posts a powerful punch!
SO, if you’d like to win anything on this site, just comment on this thread! For now, I plan on drawing for hankies every few weeks and cookbook once a month or so, maybe more often. Comments can be simple “I like your site!” “Hey! I am commenting!”, whichever you choose. Just be willing to give me your mailing address in case you win something is all I ask. I tend to want to embroider things on a whim and may already have your initialed hankie done by the time I announce it!
I have a big week coming up in September in which I will have a new recipe posted each and every day along with drawings throughout the week for anything I can think of! My mother, who is a professional quilter and amazing seamstress, is making a vintage style apron to be given away as well. I have one of these as does my daughter and they are just such a treat to get to wear!
If you have emailed me and I have not emailed you back, I sincerely apologize! I believe I only have two emails to return and will get to those today. This is the week that school starts here so we’re running around with last minute doctor’s appointments, clothes shopping, supply gathering, etc. Next week will be my first week in a long time where I will have a few hours three days a week to myself. With my nine year old in school and my daughter in part time preschool, I hope to devote a lot more time to my blogging!
I have also started blogging for another website. This is a great opportunity for me to attract more viewers and have my blog seen by more people. However, I am determined not to slack on this blog so you just keep on coming back and I’ll keep on delivering! Southern Plate is my baby and all of my readers here have given me so much. Your loyalty, encouragement, and enthusiasm keep me excited and looking forward to each new post!
One of these days, I hope to have a food column in print. If that day ever comes, I know I will owe my gratitude to all of you who were kind enough to stick with me in the beginning!
Have a great week!
Christy

I recently discovered Southern Plate and have already recommended it to a friend or 2. Having lived in rural west Tennessee all my life, most of your recipes either bring back childhood memories or are staples around our house. I would love to win a cookbook! Am emailing my address.
