These cinnamon rolls have power behind them – real power. You could pretty much get anything you wanted if you showed up toting a plate of these babies, warm with icing oozing down the side. …

Submitted by Christy Jordan on Saturday, August 30, 200810 Comments

This morning I closed the comments and added the number of comments up with the number of emailed recipes I received. The total number was 176. I think went to www.random.org and had the site choose a number for me between 1 and 176. The number chosen was 162. With all of the emails lined up in the order I received them, the 162nd entry in the giveaway was ~drumroll~

BEVERLY FROM NORTH CAROLINA!!!

Here is her entry:

I have had this recipe for some time and have debated over whether to share it or not. The debate wasn’t that I didn’t WANT to share it – it was that I didn’t really think this was “southern”. Then, today I saw your recipe for Taco Soup and knew my recipe was going to fit in just fine. Why can’t it be southern? I’m from North Carolina and I talk ‘real flat’ and country-like and if I make this recipe in the south, then, that makes it “southern” – right? I got this from my cousin’s wife and I almost had to choke-her-down to make her give it to me! LOL It is great and is usually made and secretly served to the women in the kitchen while the men are outside cooking the hamburgers and hot dogs. Mean, huh? Anyway, here it is!

Taco Rex Cheese Dip

8 oz. cream cheese, softened
8 oz. sour cream
1 can bean dip with Jalapeno peppers
1/2 pack Taco seasoning mix
1 tsp. Texas Pete
8 oz. grated Monterey Jack cheese with Jalapeno peppers
8 oz. grated sharp cheddar cheese
small finely chopped onion

Mix cream cheese, sour cream, bean dip taco seasoning mix and Texas Pete together, then stir in the grated cheeses and onion.

Put in 9 x 13 casserole dish (I usually spray first with Pam) and bake at 350 degrees for 25 – 30 minutes until bubbly.

Serve warm with Tortilla chips.

This can be divided and frozen. Remove from freezer and thaw first before baking.

SO
I am in the process of making a downloadable E-book of ALL of the slow cooker recipe entries which will be available to EVERYONE on my download site as soon as I get it done! WE ALL WIN!!

Thank you all so much for reading Southern Plate! I cannot tell you how much I enjoy doing this!

I would love to respond to all of the comments on the Slow Cooker Giveaway thread, but there are so many I would have to stop posting for a week to have time! I just want you to know that I have read every one (loved the song!). I also enjoyed the emails. Some of you sent the funniest stories! I know you are going to be excited about these recipes so be sure to keep your eyes peeled on my download site!
