Now on with the show!
Deanna Caswell presents Stove Top Popcorn posted at Little House in the Suburbs, saying, “I have been popping my own corn in the cast iron kettle for a couple of months now. When Mr. Ivory and I had some regular microwave popcorn recently we were shocked at our reaction…BLECH! I thought I was being frugal, cutting down on waste, eliminating questionable oils and preservatives. I did NOT intend to ruin us for life on the store-bought stuff! But, that’s exactly what happened.”
Angie presents My Absolute Favorite Salad posted at Cooking for a Circus Has to be Simple, saying, “To me, it’s the combination of the strawberry, pear, pecan and gorgonzola that makes this salad top my list.”
She also adds this great recipe for Cream Cheese Crock Pot Chicken . “The first year of the twins life we lived on crock pot dinners since that’s all I seemed to be able to manage. This recipe is by far my families favorite”
Tina presents Mommy’s Kitchen: Creamy Chicken Noodle Bake posted at Mommy’s Kitchen, saying, “This dish is a family favorite in our house. It’s so simple to throw together especially if you are pressed for time. If you want a creamy dreamy casserole this is the dish for you. My Creamy Chicken Casserole really screams comfort food. Serve with a salad and fresh bread or rolls and your meal is complete.”
She also included Kielbasa & Bow Tie Pasta posted at Mommy’s Kitchen, saying, “This is another simple one dish meal. It is one dish because you prepare the whole meal in one skillet, minus cooking the past but it really doesnt get any simplier than this. I am always on the look out for new recipe using smoked sausage and this. I saw this recipe awhile back and tried it and it is definitly a keeper. It turns out so pretty and colorful.”
Tina has been a busy bee! Here is another favorite for not only her family but her readers as well! Salisbury Steak Crock Pot Style “This is my all time favorite salisbury steak recipe. I have been making it for years to many to count. I can always depend on this dish to turn out perfect everytime. It is very versaitle and can be served with mashed potatoes, noodles or rice. Dont buy another Frozen Salsibury Steak dinner again, this is really easy to prepare and so so much better.”
Christy at Southern Plate presents Chocolate Cobbler. “Growing up, we had this probably once a week. I always thought it was because everyone liked it so much but according to Mama, the frequency of this dessert had a lot more to do with it being so quick, easy, and most importantly: budget friendly. Generally, most folks have these ingredients on hand. It doesn’t hurt that you don’t even need an egg for it!”
She also includes Southern Hoe Cake and states ” I can honestly say that this is a rare recipe, having searched and not found it anywhere online. I do hope you will try it and guarantee that if you like biscuits, you’ll LOVE hoe cake. Out of all of my recipes that folks try from Southern Plate, this one ALWAYS gets rave reviews!”
Donna Murray presents » The Red Hat Society Cookbook Yellow Jeep Blonde: What do you do AFTER the kids grow up. . . posted at Yellow Jeep Blonde, saying, “I’ve enjoyed these since I was a little girl. It’s a recipe that I’ll pass down to my own children. They’re so easy and always a big hit!!”

Thanks so much for including my lentil soup recipe! I make this soup almost weekly in the winter- it’s very hearty and so quick and easy that it’s become one of this busy mom’s fallback recipes.
I’d also be interested in hosting the carnival, if that’s OK.
Hey Kelly! Thank YOU for submitting that recipe – it looks great!!! I’d LOVE for you to host the carnival! Just choose a date that is convenient and email me. I’ll help you with any questions you have, but it is very easy to be a host!

Thanks Christy! And congrats on all your hard work. I know what my menu plan will be for the next week… dishes from my fellow carnivales. They all look so good!!
I’m not sure about hosting…I had to have help from Yale getting the button up and running (ha ha ha… that sounds funny. My kids are there tho,so I needed my daughter in law’s help via e-mail this morning), so me trying to “host” might not be a good thing right now. I need practice.
This sounds pretty cool. I would do this but seems like a lot to do.:) These recipes sound really yummy. You do a great job with your blog.:)
Sharon:)
Thank you so much for including my Peanut Butter Cornflake Bars in your Carnival. You are just a doll.
I tried all during my lunch hour to add your little Blog Carnival diddy to my sidebar, but apparently I’m not as good with Wordpress as I am with cooking.
I’m working on it though!!!
Muse Hey! Thank you so much and thank you for participating and helping to make it so great!
Debbie Thank you! It wasn’t much work at all. Most of my time was spent fretting over the logo! Don’t you worry one bit about hosting, I don’t mind doing it all all, I just want to give folks a chance to have it on their blog if they’d like.
I get so frustrated at times when I can’t make my webpage do my bidding! I know just what you mean!
Sjs Thank you! Thanks for reading, too!! If you have any recipes on your blog you’d like to submit, just send me the link at carnival@southernplate.com and I’ll include you in the next one, no work for you at all and we’d love to have you!
Donna Thank YOU so much for letting us include your cornflake bars!!!
Wordpress ~moans~ . I toyed with it for some time today thinking on my web re-design. Makes my head hurt just thinking bout it!
