we must be sure to remember the patient, understanding Southern Gentleman who has been trained at his mother’s (and sister’s!) knee on how to handle a Southern Lady’s Hissy Fit:

keep your mouth shut until it blows over, only say “yes, dear” when prompted to respond, and quickly find something to fix OUTSIDE the house unless tasked to correct the fit’s source…

for he knows if he follows these steps that soon enough the spice will turn to sugar once again!

Hey gal,
I thought of some other kind of “fits”…LOL

We have what is called the “snot-slinging fit” in which you are so mad you are crying and slinging…welll, you know!!

My grandchildren have “total melt downs” don’t want to be around when that happens…

Also when we are confronting someone on an issue we call that a “come to Jesus meeting”…which I’ll be having with my adult son real soon! All’s he needs to do is say “Yes, Mama” and all will be right in my world…because “When Mama ain’t happy ain’t nobody happy”…Amen??

This brings back so many memories! My mama used to throw a lot of hissy fits and conniption fits when I was growing up and they seemed to be much worse when she was having hot flashes or when our air conditioner was broke, which was quite often. Us kids used to laugh at her when she wasn’t looking. I guess we were disrespectful once in awhile. Shame on us! As for the Candy Corn and peanut recipe…..I can’t wait to try it. We love candy corn, so I know it will be a hit. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Hi Christy,
This candy would have been great for my nicotine fits I used to have. When I was trying to quit smoking I ate candy corn. You know they put sugar in cigarettes to get you addicted too. I would like to see the lotion recipe. (Us Moms have to stick together. LOL!) I really enjoy your site and can’t wait to try some of the recipes. By the way, the only thing I see missing in your breakfast meal is chocolate gravy. We have Christmas breakfast every year and try to make everything we can think of to eat for breakfast. My mama in law keeps this stuff right in the four yer right up until november 1st when she busts out the fudge and divinity!
