I have to agree with Megan on using the golden raisins. That’s how I’ve eaten this salad too. I can’t say I’m 100% certain because it’s been awhile since I’ve eaten it, but I believe the person who made the dish for me also added purple grapes. I can’t believe I liked this salad because the ingredients are so unusual together but I was sooooo glad I tried it and I loved it!

Well, Christy…It’s very late on Easter Eve…Earlier, I realized that I forgot broccoli. At first I thought I was out of luck…Then, never fear…I just threw this together with fresh spinach leaves…It’s delicious!

Michael, my sister-in-law sent me the recipe and I put it away (so I’d have it when she called and said, “I can’t find my recipe, can you read it to me?”) I had NO intentions of making it. Had it at a friend’s and asked for the recipe. I checked and sure enough it was the same one I WAS NOT GOING TO MAKE BECAUSE IT DIDN”T SOUND LIKE SOMETHING I WANTED TO TRY. I told my friend and the same kind of thing had happened to her. Ever since then (about 15 years ago) it has been one of my favorite and most requested recipes.

Love this salad. Have made it all kinds of ways. I made it today with grapes instead of raisins and walnuts instead of sunflower seeds. If I’m in a hurry, I use the broccoli salad mix instead of chopping broccoli. Anything is good with that dressing and bacon!

I have been making this for years. I can tell you that a really good edition to the salad is raisins, multi-colored are the prettiest. It adds a really good pop of flavor to this sweet salad.

I take pleasure in reading these articles becuase they aid me with the flash or shockwave games developing that I do rather a lot of, it’s a shame all the rubbish comments that these internet sites are continuing to accumulate though, they should fix this.

Loved! that salad at WalMart! I always tried to get over there by 4:30 because it would be gone after this. Why they quit selling it, I’ll never know. Even wrote hdqtrs. about this. Thank you, thank you for the recipe! Will plan to make this for sure!
