Made this for the first time tonight. Huge hit at our house and cooked in the right amount of time. Substituted the italian sausage for a layer of pepperoni. Just layered the pepperoni after the cheese and beofre the sauce/beef mixture...YUM! Thanks so much...this is a keeper :)

I've made this several times for my family. Using half Italian Sausage really adds alot to the flavor, when I used only beef it was a bit more bland. I have a seasoning blend I bought from a bulk store called pizza topping. I stir about a tablespoon into the meat mixture and about half a tablespoon into the dough. I also add a liberal spoonfull of the jarred minced garlic to the meat mixture. That said, this is a real favorite at our house and since there's only three of us, we eat leftovers the next night plus a lunch or two!

The top batter was still raw after 30 minutes. I cooked it an additional 15-20 minutes. It was good, but more like lasagna than pizza.

Christy, just made your pizza...I followed everything word for word..but I found it a little bland...it was like it was missing something...maybe it was the crust and maybe it was the parmasen cheese...not sure..I used the bell peppers and I italian seasoning in the meat mixture along with onions...not sure where I went wrong...oh well ... liked everything else that I have made so far...thanks....Next!
