Hey Rita!
This is exactly how I cook my ham however, there are a lot of different factors here which I am not privy to on the other site. They are most likely cooking it for a significantly shorter period of time. Keep in mind that I am cooking mine all day or even overnight at 250. The proper internal temperature of a safely cooked ham, according to the USDA, is 165 degrees. If you are cooking a ham on 250 for an hour or so, it would not be safe. It is important to take the length of time into account for that reason.

Having said this, I encourage you to cook it however you feel most comfortable and if you prefer a higher temp for a shorter period of time, go with what is best and easiest for you :).
I like the tenderness of meat cooked "slow and low", but ham is good either way.

Gratefully,

I'm making this ham today. My place is smelling so good. This will be a first for me making it w/o pineapple and brown sugar.
Tomorrow I will put the left over with a pot of beans.
Thanks again for all the great recipes.
Happy New Year!
