Great hit dog chili!!! I have made it several times, with several different combinations of seasonings. I have made the orginal version………love it! Added ground allspice, cloves, and cinnamon for a Greek hot dog sauce like that served in BIrmingham. Tasted great!! Added beans, for a different taste, and that worked too! Does anyone have a chili recipe that tastes like that served at the Varsity in Atlanta?

I’m a Mullins from Ky and it’s hard to beat a good Ky. hot dog which btw you don’t use ketchup anywhere close to it,it’s got to be mustard chili and onions,although carolina dogs are acceptable too with cole slaw on the afore mentioned mustard,chili and onions.

sorry to tell you but my husband makes the best hot dog chilli around, if you want to get this verified just ask my family. whenever we had a gathering before we moved it was always”lets have uncle bill’s chili dogs”. and no matter how many times someone else uses his recipe it is not the same. he is a great cook anyway. when natalie dupree’s show was on tv, he loved watching her cook because he said they both make a mess when they are cooking but the food is great. just wanted to share this with you. if you would like the recipe, just let me know on facebook and i will ask him.

I love chili with my hot dog but I got to have more than just hamburger cooked, I add ketchup and some water to make a good thick soup like chili. so good
