I was getting ready to make the donuts with the biscuits and had the oil all heated before I took out the bisuit can. When I cracked open the can, whoops!!!!, I had opened a cinnamon roll can instead! Well, I thought, guess you babies are going in the oil as I didn't want to bake them. I put them in just like the bisuit ones and rolled 4 in cinnamon sugar and put the icing on the other 4. My husband gobbled them up and said they tasted just like a bakery roll! He used to work in a bakery....goes to show that some mistakes work out and we learn a new way! :) :)

Thanks for all the good stories and wonderful recipes!

As my husband and I are salivating over these jelly and creme filled biscuit donuts..er, creme pies, we began brainstorming donuts. Lemon meringue pie filling donuts rolled in powdered sugar, Blueberry pie filling , strawberry, cherry, peach, apple, blackberry pie filling donuts rolled in same, chocolate pudding inside with frosting, etc, etc, etc. Even cream cheese frosting on some of them. Think our ideas are greater than our ability to eat them, but we surely do know what we will be doing next week! Love, love, love your website recipes and stories. What JOY. Puh-lease let us all know the minute your cookbook comes out!

I'd been thinking about trying to make filled donuts this way, so I'm glad I came across this. What about using those squeeze bottles like for ketchup & mustard to get the filling in? I'm thinking of putting apple pie filling in the food processor to get it fine enough to go through the tip and then shaking the donuts in a bag with cinnamon sugar. I'll let you know if it works.

I think this is the only recipe I've tried so far from your blog that didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped - don't get me wrong - I still enjoyed the flavor! But when I put the jelly in, it tasted just like well... A biscuit with jelly LOL. Maybe I did something wrong? I found the icing didn't really meld with my biscuit and jelly so I left the icing off most and just enjoyed fried jelly filled biscuits! (biscuits with jelly are a favorite of mine by the way so not all was lost! In fact, I usually eat more biscuits than dinner when we have them! hehe). And, my son and I really enjoyed our time in the kitchen together again as well! So, thank you again!! ;)

Okay Christy...you won't believe this. There IS Krispy Kreme in Australia but not where I live!!! What is that about??!?! Makes me so smad! (mad and sad..haha)

And KK have no plans currently to expand to Perth, which is where I live.

It's not an uncommon sight to see people coming back home to Perth after being in Melbourne (which is on the east) with boxes of KK. Everyone brings it back home. My brother had to travel through Melbourne for a business trip and I had him bring me a box. I finished the whole box off practically all by myself. Oh my goodness, they were the best things I ever had. It was my first time having KK, they were soooooo good.

I was trying to find a KK when I was in NYC but I couldn't find one. I was so upset, so all I had were Dunkin.

I've never had Krispy hot fresh though, now I'm told having a fresh KK is like nothing else.
