I smiled when you mention your Grandma's dishes. I have so many of them and I think (and dream about) her all the time. We were very close. It's a nice way to remember her and my wonderful childhood memories. I have her Pyrex Autumn Harvest set and use it daily.

Christy, I too have the plates from my grandmother that you posted in this recipe and fondly remember sitting across from my grandmother but right beside my grandfather while growing up. Going to be trying this recipe for the first time on Christmas day. Merry Christmas to you and yours and as always, thanks for the laughs. ~ Lori

What a sweet Christmas card! I made a photo card this year too, it's of our rabbits :D The menu looks delicious too, you will be one busy cook! We're going to a friend's house for dinner and they will be making prime rib and mashed potatoes. We'll be bringing chips and dip for an appetizer, corn pudding, green beans similar to yours but baked and with dried cherries added, and transparent pudding for dessert. Should be delicious!

LOVE these! My grandmother used to make something very similar and was not one to write down her beloved recipies. I've been searching for something like this for a while now and am thrilled to find this one...tastes almost exactly like how she used to make them! Thank you so much for sharing them!!

I've made these green beans before. They are the best. My friend gave me the recipe along with her pok chop recipe. She called the duo "Hearburn Special". The pork chops were fried in bacon grease with the regular seasonings; then smothered in tomatoe sauce with a coulple of bay leaves. You have to simmer the life out of them, but it all comes together and tastes great. (Of course she was from Tennesee.)
Thanks for the reminder, I haven't thought of her or the recipe in a long time. She was a great friend.

Just curious if these green beans can be cooked ahead and kept warm in a crockpot? We have to travel about an hour or so for our Thankgiving Dinner this year.
