Quick Beefy Fiesta Bake
Courtesy of Pioneer Brand
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 package (1 oz.) Williams Chili Seasoning Mix
- 1 cup Pioneer Original or Buttermilk Biscuit and Baking Mix
- 1 can (16 oz.) refried beans
- 1 can (4 oz.) chopped green chilies
- ¼ cup water
- 1 cup thick and chunky salsa
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
Heat oven to 375ºF. Crumble and brown ground beef in large skillet. Add Williams Chili Seasoning Mix. Drain fat if desired. Set aside. Combine Pioneer Biscuit and Baking Mix, refried beans, green chilies and water in a large bowl. Spread in a 2-quart baking dish. Top with prepared meat, salsa and then cheese. Bake 25 minutes.
Garnish with one or more of the following: guacamole, sour cream, green onions, sliced olives, crumbled corn chips. Yield: 6 servings
Prep. Time: 10 minutes, Cooking Time: 25 minutes

Oh my goodness I can see a big ole Southern breakfast for my family using a bunch of those yummy products. I can taste some fluffy pancakes with maple syrup and a mess of bisquits and gravy now. Plus,that flour tin would look great in my kitchen because my house was built in 1917 and back then you needed a tin to keep them Florida critters and creepy crawleys out of yur flour.(still do)

When I think about baking in general, I think about the love and care that goes into it. My late Grandmother was very traditional in her baking. She did it often and it was always from scratch. I never remember a time going to her home when there wasn’t a fresh cobbler, cake or pie somewhere waiting for us in the kitchen. She wasn’t an overly affectionate lady (she was soooo quiet and reserved), but she shared her love for family through her meals and especially her treats/baking. Using products from a company with such a long tradition and reputation would be a great opportunity to carry on her tradition for my own family. Thanks for the great giveaway opportunity!

It won’t be long until it cools off and I’ll want to bake, bake, bake to help heat the house! This would be so welcome…all of it. And I’ll wear the t-shirt my husband had made exclusively for me…It says “Don’t forget the gravy!” Ideal for when I use the Pioneer mixes. Thanks for the contest!

I remember my mother used to use Pioneer products. She has been gone for about 8 years now. I can’t find that brand here in California. I love all the recipes and things posted on your site. My family and I LOVE Pioneer mixes! They are fast and easy to use, but have that homemade flavor. I also love the various recipes out there that use the mixes. One of favorites is a variation of the Broccoli Cheese soup…we switched it up to potato ham soup…love them both! I get numerous compliments on them.
I’d gladly mail you some Biscuits n Gravy if I could! That pepper gravy mix looks so good! Yum!

We have used the Pioneer Sausage Gravy mix for a few years and we love it. We fry up cubed potatoes and ladle the gravy on top. It’s fattening but so very good for a Sunday breakfast.
