Quick Beefy Fiesta Bake
Courtesy of Pioneer Brand
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 package (1 oz.) Williams Chili Seasoning Mix
- 1 cup Pioneer Original or Buttermilk Biscuit and Baking Mix
- 1 can (16 oz.) refried beans
- 1 can (4 oz.) chopped green chilies
- ¼ cup water
- 1 cup thick and chunky salsa
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
Heat oven to 375ºF. Crumble and brown ground beef in large skillet. Add Williams Chili Seasoning Mix. Drain fat if desired. Set aside. Combine Pioneer Biscuit and Baking Mix, refried beans, green chilies and water in a large bowl. Spread in a 2-quart baking dish. Top with prepared meat, salsa and then cheese. Bake 25 minutes.
Garnish with one or more of the following: guacamole, sour cream, green onions, sliced olives, crumbled corn chips. Yield: 6 servings
Prep. Time: 10 minutes, Cooking Time: 25 minutes

I’ve never seen Pioneer brand mixes way up here

I grew up on Pioneer biscuit Mix. My grandmother, mother and I now make “Flour Bread” with it and eat it with Cane Syrup. Yum!!!
I’d be ecstatic if I won this great basket of goodies. I already use (and love) Pioneer’s biscuit gravy. It’s so quick and easy to make, and tastes like my mom’s homemade white gravy! What a wonderful way to try Pioneer’s other products too.

I would love to try all these products! I have only used Bisquick! I did not even know about Pioneer until I read about them on Southern Plate! We are always trying new foods/recipes at our house and I could really use these products to test out new recipes on my family and friends!

Love your site. The recipes are great. At any given time, you can find at least 3 packs of gravy mix in my spice drawer. We eat it every weekend. I love all of the Pioneer mixes. They are the best ones on the market. Sometimes, I think they are better than homemade. I also collect cookbooks and have not gotten a copy of the Pioneer cookbook or yours, but they are both on my wish list. As of right now, I have about 150 different “Home Cooking” type cookbooks. I really love to get local cookbooks any time we are on vacation. Thanks for keeping the “Home Cooking” alive.

I have not seen Pioneer products in my local stores (SE Ohio), but would love the opportunity for an introductary prize package. I love the nostalgic factor.

I returned on Saturday from a two week visit to the South (VA, KY, TN and NC).
I was spoiled by the great Southern Cooking, and would love to produce some of those flavors in my own home. The cookbook that could take me back to my grandmother / great-grandmother’s tried and true recipes would be a great boon for my family.
These would certainly make my life as a mom to a 7-week old and 18-month old a LOT easier!

The basket and cookbook are a great gift! I would certainly enjoy having it and it also gives me an idea for a gift for those just starting housekeeping, college kids who are moving into their first apartment, newly weds, etc. I especially like the tin for flour.

I’ve never tried Pioneer brand but would love to win and get to try them. I live in Oregon and don’t know if they sell their products in stores around here or not, but I’m gonna check next time I’m at Walmart!
I grew up seeing Pioneer products around my mothers kitchen. Since that time I have used many of these products in my own home and have never been disappointed in the results. I would LOVE to win the gift basket to use the products and especially to display then in the beautiful, memory-evolking tin!

My Girl Scout troop and I went camping this spring, which of course included making pancakes over the campfire. When we were shopping for the campout, I sent the girls back to get PIONEER mix – nothing else would do. I hope they remember that when they’re cooking for their families.

Pioneer baking mix is a staple at our house for pancakes, biscuits, pot pies, dumplings and coffee cakes. Hope I win the basket that tin is fetching!
I have never used these products but they look really good and would love to give them a try.
