2010 Southern Plate Gratitude Basket

Today I’m excited to bring you the second in the series of Southern Plate Baskets, the follow up to last years Bountiful Basket. This is just a little something I do to commemorate Southern Plate’s anniversary and offer something special to my readers. Last year’s basket was perfectly sized to hold biscuits, muffins, or even cookies. I use mine daily and just love it.

I wanted to have an equally useful basket for this year’s offering and I think you’ll find it as handy as I do.  The Gratitude Basket comes with a wooden divider that is uniquely designed to hold paper plates, napkins, and utensils. Perfect for outdoor barbecues, picnics, parties, or just informal family gatherings. It would also be great to use in an office, craft room, or any other ideas you can come up with!

There will be a limited number of baskets made.

Sample Basket, your basket will feature the Southern Plate engraved tag.

These baskets are each handmade in Ohio of hard maple trees harvested in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana and each one comes with a lifetime warranty.

This is the second in the Southern Plate Basket series and matches the same color scheme as the Bountiful basket from last year. To see last year’s Bountiful Basket (no longer available), please click here.

I used last years basket profits to buy bicycles for Toys for Tots and want to do something equally fun when Christmas rolls around this year.  I am taking orders for a very limited time on these and expect them to be shipped out by mid September. Last year myself, my mother, and my grandmother Lucy signed the first 100 baskets ordered and plan on doing that again this year.

The engraved brass tag on each basket features the Southern Plate magnolia.

This is the Gratitude Basket, designed to match the Bountiful Basket from last year.

Each basket comes with a wooden divider, engraved brass tag, and lifetime warranty.

Next years basket will be in the same color scheme so that the entire series will match.

Deadline to order is August 20th.

Due to the cost, I’m unable to order additional baskets beyond those that are paid for by the deadline.

I won’t be publicizing these heavily so please let your friends know if you think they’d like one.

DEADLINE TO ORDER IS AUGUST 20th, 2010.*
*Price is for shipping in United States only. Please leave a comment below if you’d like shipping cost to another country and I’ll contact you :)

Because Life is good, homecooking is best, and there is ALWAYS something to be grateful for!

    • My anniversary is in three days! Happy Anniversary to us!!! I wish I could get you last years! I have one for me and one for each of my kids but that is it. If anyone wants to sell theirs feel free to mention it here in these comments!

I can’t come up with a thing I want for my anniversary so it may end up being pizza for dinner as my gift this year, which would be fine, too!
      hehe
      Gratefully,
      Christy

    Christy,
Are your baskets made by Longaberger? I’ve already ordered one, but I collect Longaberger baskets and this looks like theirs. I wish I could still get last year’s Bountiful basket.

    • Hey! I agree, they look just like Longabergers! When you see them in person you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference, either. They are made by American Tradition’s Basket Company in Ohio and they are the same if not better quality.
I hope you love it as much as I do!!!
      Gratefully,
      Christy

I own several American Tradition’s Baskets and they are of really good quality. And just as good looking as Longaberger.

I have Longaberger baskets in every room in my house, I live in Cincinnati, so it’s a little easier to buy them. I have been to Dresden twice and it is tons of fun to go, lots of shopping and LOTS of baskets!!!! I do love this basket and will be ordering one. Thank You!!!! :)

I will be placing an order. I want to compliment you on how nicely the basket was packaged for shipping last year. My beautiful basket arrived in perfect condition. Your shipping fee is reasonable!

  8. Amy Haris

I love this!!!! I, too, would love to have last year’s basket, so if anyone is so inclined to sell theirs, please let me know! I read through the post but didn’t see any mention of ordering more than one. I’d like to get one for my DD also. Is that ok? She’s getting married and I’m going to give her your cookbook and this would be a wonderful addition! Thank you!

  9. Amy Harris

Oh Christy, you are so wonderful! You don’t have to do that! I didn’t know if you had a “one per person” limit. Thank you! I’m so excited!!!!

    Hi,

Is there a way you happen to have a plastic liner? I kinda dump all kinds of things in my baskets and it makes them way easier to clean.

    thanks, Puppydogs

    Oh my goodness.
This won’t be on the topic of the basket, which is beautiful, btw, I just wanted to comment in general. I discovered this awesome site of yours today and have been reading all morning, I love love LOVE the way you write, Christy! You have made me chuckle over and over and found myself wanting to memorize some funny lines so I can be clever and use them at a later date :)
Next, I will come back and go through your recipes, as I’m sure they’re all delicious, but as of yet, I haven’t been able to concentrate, and I’m blaming it on your writing talent. Go figure!
Anyway, thanks for reaching out and inviting me on FB, this is how I ended up here.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend, thanks for making mine just a tad spicier !
