When do we find out details about the Tuscaloosa event? Where is it, cost, etc??

  2. Aww… :( What are the alternate plans for the Tuscaloosa people?

  3. THE TODAY SHOW…WOW….You must really be excited!!! I have only been reading the Southern Plate website for a few months and “OH, how far you have come in that short time” and all of the exciting things you have done. I thank you for all of the things that you have shared with your online “family”.
    Just keep on going girl!!!!!

  4. Julie Boyett

Hi – just wondering where the “special benefit book signing” in HSV is going to be? I have purchased about 6-7 of your books for Christmas and would love to get them signed! THanks!

I already have my book…was gonna give it as a Christmas present but now I don’t know…

    • Anne honey, if I had the money and could take my kids I’d visit you all. My most important job is being with them though and we just can’t take money out of our family budget for me to travel to sign books.
Alabama is easy for y’all to travel to though so I’ll let ya know when the next bama signing is and look forward to seeing you there :)

        Christy,
As soon as I found out that you were having the December 19, 2010 book-signing in Huntsville, I ordered several books to get them signed and give as Christmas presents. The books arrived on December 20th. Two were for my nieces who, with their families, are just barely getting by and can’t afford a computer, and therefore, can’t get your wonderful recipes from your website. I truly hope you next Huntsville book-singing will be soon so that I can get the books signed before I give the girls the books. I know they will love your recipes as much as I do!

  9. Karen

When are you coming to Florida?

  10. Angela

    Hey Christy,
You got some plans for traveling much this year? I know you love to stay home with those kids. They do grow up way to fast, as mine is 23 and 20. The 23 yr. old one is getting married in June at Athens State. He’s marrying a lovely girl, Maggie, which you met at Krispy Kreme. Hope to be able to get together before too long for lunch. I’m still planning on it. Stay warm!

I missed you when you were in Dallas….but my sister gave me the cookbook you autographed…any chance you are coming to Texas or Louisiana…ok even Oklahoma…I don’t mind driving

    • I’m afraid you missed me in Oklahoma, too, and I’d love to get to meet you one of these days!
Hang in there with me because I’m sure I’ll come around the bend with future books!

  15. Angela

Hey Christy, I think it would be great to do another show in Florence at UNA!
What do you think? Maybe for your next book that’s coming out……when?

    • Hey Angela! I’ve offered to do another show and UNA is considering it. Now we just gotta see if they decide they want to in time for me to get it in my calendar and if they do, we’re off to the races!

  16. Nancy

We had such a great time this weekend. You were the hightlight of the book festival for me! Thanks for coming.

  17. Could you possibly come to visit our library for a midday book signing and talk? We have a great monthly author event and since Selma has no bookstore, we have folks who LOVE to buy books especially with an author’s own autograph. We are planning our 2011-2012 series and think you would have a great time here in Selma, Alabama…we are close enough to drive and get home before dark! PLEASE give us consideration! And best wishes for continued success!
    Best
    Becky

  18. You were SO awesome on QVC today! it flew by though! Congrats!!

  19. Angela Lewis

Hey girl! I still thik you need another show at UNA. They need to get you booked! Who should I contact (the powers that be) to ask them to have you back?

  20. Nita

    Hey Christy,
I tried your recipe hamburger steak and it was very very good. I’m from alabama also and love the southern cooking.
I love trying all new recipes yours are the best

  21. Erin Key

Hey Christy! I hope you come back to the Dallas area again. I’ve only started reading Southernplate the last few months. It has been a true joy to read your posts, and get to try your recipes. I just made your fresh strawberry cake tonight for my son’s teacher appreciation brunch tomorrow. I know they are gonna love it!! My Aunt always makes strawberry cake with homemade vanilla ice cream when we come to visit. I can’t wait to eat to have a slice tomorrow, and my poor children were literally crying to have a bite of it tonight. I let them lick the cream cheese frosting off the spoon though! I just may have to make another one tomorrow especially for them. Your sweet spirit and love of life comes out so clearly in your posts and is truly contagious. Thank you so much!!!!
