I haven’t found anything in your cookbook that I haven’t liked. I love the Grandma’s old fashioned tea cakes, they remind me of my grandma. Thank you so much for everything you do to help us working women to make our lives easier. You are such a blessing.
Its hard to pick a favorite but I love the Hobo Packets…so good and easy..Teresa
I am new to your blog, but am already in love with your bbq and coleslaw. I am a southern girl at heart, transplanted to Pennsylvania, and they have NO IDEA how to make bbq or coleslaw around here (cheesesteaks, yes, bbq, no).
My kids love the Hobo Packets! Thanks for the opportunity to win!
The twinkie cake definitely!!!!
Teacakes!!!!
I could use this. Right now I’m using a collection of odd’s and ends from friends and family.
My absolute favorite is your Apple Dapple Cake. My Bridge group always requests it when it is my turn to be hostess.

Read your article in Southern Living Magizine and loved it! The slow cooker chicken and rice is very good!!
Your fried cabbage!!! My daddy was Czech and a wonderful cook. He could just put things together and they would be good. He did a lot of cooking with cabbage and one dish was ver similar to tis one. Now that he’s gone, I don’t have it as often as I would like but thanks to your recipe, I can!!!
Chicken flank!!!!! yummy
I love Southern cooking!!! Even got some of my northern family to love it! Thanks for passing on the recipes! And thanks for the chance for some new cook wear!
The chicken tortilla soup! Perfect Fall recipe, and so easy. I work in a group home for the developmentally disabled and i made this recipe for the residents and co-workers. It was a hit.
The country casserole!!! I get a lot of compliments when I make it, even at our church homecoming!!!
Christy,
I am having a very hard time picking a favorite. All of your recipes are great. Also, the pictures that go with them are so helpful. If I have to pick, I would say the “slow cooker” or one dish meal were my favorites. Thank you for such a wonderful opportunity to finally get some very good pots & pans for my kitchen.
I can not tell a lie! After all, I’m from Texas. I logged on to your website after reading about you in a magazine article, and I’ve been printing out recipes ever since. However, I have not tried any of them yet, but I am planning my Thanksgiving dinner with them. Sweet Potatoes, oh yea. Crock pot dressing! And all the recipes for sweets are dancing in my head. I want to live with you and let you feed me. You go, Southern girl!! !
Your Cheesy Chicken and Corn Casserole is my absolute favorite!
It has to be fried “taters:!!!!
Has to be the old fashioned coconut meringue pie-almost just like what I grew up eating and still make today. Love your website!
Of course like every southern girl, the Banana Pudding is my favorite. I love your website. When I click on very morning, I feel like I am having coffee with one of my neighbors. Keep the recipes coming, we love them.
Wonderful recipes, sad I was out of state when you were in our state.
ALL recipes you show are delicious. I have tried the pork chops with the hushpuppy mix for coating the chops. It is wonderful, BUT my favorite so far has to be the Crock Pot Chicken and Dressing. You are so talented and I love your website.
We love all the recipes but our favorite is the Cinnamon Love Knots! Yummm!!
Your recipe for slow cooked pork is my favorite ♥

I love all the recipes; especially crock pot chicken and rice
I love the homemade cinna-buns! No one knows that you took a short cut with frozen bread dough.
I’m an alabama girl (always), loving the drop biscuits and hoe cake.

I have not found anything my family did not like but I did make the sweet potato pie this week and it was wonderful….just like my momma would have made.

Hey Christy! I am new to Southern Plate, but I am hooked! I am constantly looking up recipes to make delicious southern meals. My recent favorite is the Chicken Planks! My husband loved them!
We love the Cracker Barrel chicken recipe, the one marinated in Italian dressing. We like to call it “burned chicken”. I made a double batch every week. So simple and inexpensive and so darn tasty. My kids come runnin when they smell that cookin. Congrats on your cookbook Christy.
Love the banana pudding. So good and easy to make.
It’s so hard to narrow all the choices down to one, but your Apple Fritters are so easy and so good! Congratulations on all your success and thanks for the great site.
So, my mother passed away will be 2 years ago in November. I have been looking for her Banana Pudding recipe in her house for two years. I made yours over the weekend and it brought a tear to my eye, it tasted so much like her’s. It was the first time I had ever made “Real” Banana Pudding, not the quick kind and it was a huge hit at the dinner we were at. Thanks for sharing your family recipes with us!
Hands down…hoecakes!!!
Right now I love the Chicken and Wild Rice cooked in the prockpot and then the Uncle Bens Rice mixed in at the end. Oh my word! So good!
I love your banana pudding recipe. Thanks for all you do Christy!!!
I love the cracker barrel chicken. I live in NYC but everytime I visit family in NC I am going to cracker barrel so its good to try this recipe.
