Sunday Dinner 11/6/10

I just LOVE having company for Sunday dinner and am thrilled to have not one but two guests coming today! I got up a little after five to get everything cooking so I could just come home and heat and serve.

Here is my menu for today. I just kinda went with whatever I was in the mood to make!

Fruit cocktail cake is my favorite. My grandmother would make it for me every Christmas because I despised the regular fruitcake. yuck! :D

  2. My favorite is Rice Pudding, Yummy!

I so wish that I could meet you! My husband will be flying to Huntsville soon for more Army training…I SOOO wish I could go, just so I could try to run into you! We have Sunday dinners quite often and your Momma’s Mac and Cheese is ALWAYS on the menu. I swear my husband makes me cook it at least once a week! Maybe I can get him to stop and pick up your book for me for a late Christmas present!

girl, I made your mandrin orange cake today- the comment that it is better if you let it sit in the fridge 2-3 days? PHISH! Its already half gone! I guess we will never be able to experience the full flavor of it! Love ya! Thought about you a lot today looking at the cookbook!

Christy, I had to buy your cookbook when I saw it in Costco here in J’ville, Fl.
I saw that you are a North Alabama girl like me ( Gadsden) and could not put it down until I read it all. I was not disappointed and have already made the crunchy beef casserole the next day….delicious! Can’t wait to start receiving the e-newsletters from you. Everything you say are things I’ve heard all my life and it’s really fantastic. I appreciate you girl…..keep ‘em coming!

i to love your recipes. i notice you have said many times that you are watching the sugar in the recipes. i am wondering if you know how to make cranberry sauce with sugar replacment and have it come out like what you buy in the store? have some diabetic family members who can’t have the regular kind with all the sugar. can you or anyone help me with this? no cranberry relish please. jana

My Mom purchased your cookbook for me a couple of weeks ago and FINALLY this weekend I had a chance to sit down and read it. You are truly a girl after my own heart. Thank you so much for sharing your recipes and your story. I made Chicken Planks with homemade sauce (name? – don’t have cookbook in front of me) and the Good and Easy Apple Cake. My family raved!!! Your book is prominently displayed on my kitchen counter and I can’t wait to try all the other recipes. Keep them coming!
