Well that was funny…

I had a lovely little gift for Brady’s fifth grade teacher and it was wrapped so pretty and nice.

As he started to get ready to go to school, though, his hands were full with other things and so I went into the pantry and grabbed the first bag I came to that had handles on it so he could just hook the present over his arm.

I didn’t think anything about the bag until I arrived later on for the class party and saw all of the pretty gift bags sitting on the teacher’s desk. Now keep in mind that at his school I’m often referred to as “The Cookbook Lady”. A lot of folks know what I do and that I just came off this book tour preaching the value of sitting down and having homecooked meals with your family. With all of this in mind, it was all I could do not to bust out laughing at the sight of my “gift bag” sitting amidst all of the others on her desk, only instead of mine being a Christmas print, it was a P.F. Changs takeout!

Well that was funny!

Every time we drive by the one in Asheville, we think of you and Ricky! Maybe the next time you’re in this neck of the woods we’ll take you there! BTW…how’s your pantry looking?!! I’m thinin’ it still must be in pretty good order for you to reach in and find something so quickly!! Thanks for letting us laugh with you! Just another reason why your SP Family loves ya!!

  9. Hahaha! That is funny. A woman who writes an amazingly delicious cookbook (that I can’t stop drooling over) surely deserves a little take out every once in a while :)

They have to know your human to and like someone else to cook every once in a while. ;)

  11. Girl, it’ll end up being the one that teacher remembers…. they’ll think “PFChangs????” and will be thrilled with what’s inside.

HAHA that is pretty funny, leave it to a boy to not bother with taking it out so that everyone can see all your hard work on that pretty wrapping.

BTW my dad was able to find your book the other day and picked up a copy as a present on my prompting. (of course in man style even though I had emailed him the name, he still had to call me from the bookstore for the name again and had a woman find it and hand it to him:) ) I am also hoping it shows up under my Christmas tree!

  14. Only you Christy, I love it. lol
