I know we are well past Christmas but my 95 yr old Mom LOVES these. She is in assisted living and the last time I made these for her she told me that she didn’t share a single one because they were so good. Heading her way next week and her surprise will be Fruitcake Bars ! (Hopefullly she will share this time )Thanks Christy for helping me out on making my Mom Happy !

My Dad always talks about how much better the fruitcakes were when he was young because they used dried fruit rather than candied fruit. I made your recipe for him with a dried fruit mix that I soaked in apple cider. They are so-o-o good. I’ve never really liked fruitcake but I love these cookes. I’ve already had to make a second batch. Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful recipe.

Just a thought for those who said these were dry. Ovens can vary in their temperature settings by several degrees. I invested in an inexpensive oven thermometer to be sure mine were right instead of trusting the dial.

Can these bars be stored in the freezer? Also do you think it would matter if brown rice flour was used in the baking mix? Thank you: Sheree
