Jenny -Chocolate Cobbler!!!!!!!! Great for that chocolate fix in a hurry!

April – I love, love, love your peach crisp recipe! I liked it because not only was it easy, it was delicious! Thanks for sharing your cooking/baking secrets with us. =)

Lauren- Your Cappuccino Cake is quite heavenly. Super easy to throw together quickly and is just perfect. My husband literally hates cake and he even enjoyed a slice of this!

Linda – I like the Skillet Grilled Tenders. They are delicious. We also like the Vanilla Wafer Cake. Yum!

Dana – Oh, so many great recipes! Chocolate Gravy reminds me of my Grandmother (she called it Cocoa Syrup). She made it every, single time I visited her and, when she went to live in an ALF, she gave me her Cocoa Syrup pitcher and a sweet note that I still keep in that pitcher.

Amanda – Slow cooker dressing. It was the best dressing I ever ate. I love it!

Jennifer – My two favorite Southern Plate recipes are definitely Chicken Stew and Cheesy Chicken and Rice! They always come out great and are great to take to friends!!! Ok, now which to make for dinner tonight!!!

Barbara – chai tea, my family thinks it is the best thing ever

Ann – its starting to get warm here so we are going to have your AWESOME TACO SOUP before it gets really hot here!!!

Tania – As a matter of fact, this morning, I’m making a variation of your 10-minute rolls for a potluck at church today. I love the 10-minute rolls. They are quick and easy and taste fantastic on their own, but also a basic recipe that can be tweaked from sweet to savory. This morning, they are savory. I doubled the recipe and added 1 stick butter melted, about 1 tablespoon of garlic (the kind in a jar in oil), 1 egg, some basil and some italian seasoning. This is the second time I’ve made them for a church function. They were an absolute hit the first time.

Danyelle – Made the Creamy Macaroni and Cheese Sunday for our church Homecoming and I came home with a clean bowl. It was great!!

Kathy – Made Chicken Planks last night…..delish! And so easy! Apple Dumplings are a favorite dessert….oh and Summer Corn Salad! Ok… I will stop now!

Lana – My family really likes your Butterfinger Cake. I like the fact that I can make it a day or two ahead of a big family get together and have the dessert done.

Tristan-  The slow cooker dressing!! It was absolutely the best dressing I’ve ever ate. I served it at a family fling and everyone fell inlove with it.
Jeanine – Mmmmm….Butterfinger Cake~~although, I can’t think of any that aren’t amazingly delicious… BUT the best part is, I usually always have everything ‘on hand’ in my freezer or pantry… “no crazy ingredients” is my favorite thing!!

Joyce – Made your chocolate poundcake this weekend, no frosting. So moist and delicious ! Goes great with a big cold glass of milk !

Jodie – ‎7 Up Pound Cake – it turns out beautifully everytime I make it and gets lots of requests for the recipe. Also, planning to make Cappucinno Cake for company this weekend and I can’t wait!

Erica – I have always had a hard time with pork chops until I tried your Crispy Breaded pork chops with milk gravy. They are so tender and have become a favorite in my house.

Lucinda-I made the Symphony Brownies you posted for a recent church dessert auction. They were so simple. I ended up making a second batch for my family as well. They were very well recieved. Definitely an impressive dessert! A day later, I got an e-mail from the buyer of the brownies at the auction. She was requesting the recipe. Evidently, they were a big hit w/ her and the ladies in the office where she works! I told her I was almost embarassed to share the recipe, as it was so easy. She was happy to recieve it, and at how simple they are to make. She said she was going to share it with all the ladies at her work!

Crystal – I made your Fruit Salad for Thanksgiving and I did add bananas to it.. I take a pot of boiling water and drop the bananas (peel and all) into the water.. within seconds they turn grayish/black.. it only takes seconds so take them out when they turn.. peel and slice and your bananas will not darken… I had the Fruit Salad for 5 days in the fridge and they were still fine…

Linda – Great idea!!! I made your grandmas sweet potato casserole for Christmas and it was a huge hit!

Fran – I love reading Southern Plate recipes, and your posts every day. You’ve become a part of my daily life. Sadly, though, I mostly read the recipes and your comments and haven’t cooked very many. I live alone, and that’s about it. However, your posts and your recipes bring a lot into my life every day. Thank you!

Oh! The new episode of The Southern Fried Radio Show is out. You can click play to listen to it while you read this if you like! You can also watch the video of any of our recording sessions and download mp3′s of each show by clicking here. You can also download them on iTunes for free.

Angelia - Chicken Plank’s..my kiddo’s love them. And, all my neighbors ask for the recipe. I love all your recipes, and have ordered your Cookbook for family also. You are awesome and help us out so much with your easy recipes that taste sooooooo good~!!!

Jackie -I love love love your chicken planks, they are simple yet delicious!

Janelle – Your Chicken and Dumplings, so good, I have made them so many times over the past month, family and friends love them, and want the recipe..Yum Yum.

Roben – It’s the perfect time for Strawberry Cake! If I make these and Chicken Planks, I am promised empty plates!

Phyllis-Love your chicken planks recipe; we slice up fresh wild turkey breast and do it the same way. ;)

Deborah – I made the banana crumb cake….shame on you,it should not have been so good…I ate it every time I went by it ..so I had to hide it out of sight of Myself…I make so many of your recipes I stopped looking in my cook book..and just look in your archives now when I want to try something new….You have proven to me every time that it would be delicious and it always is a winner in our house

Andrea – Fresh strawberry pie!!!!!! It is delicious.Really easy to put together.

Debbie – There isn’t just one recipe that I have liked or tried , there are many. Because of you I have began to cook again and tried so many different things. I hate cooking but with your help and delicious recipes it is a breeze and everything is delicious.

Donna – I Love your crockpot apple butter! I made a batch and my hubby was soooo impressed! I made it with Splenda instead of sugar but it did not take away from the flavor at all. With the spice combination and the Granny Smith apples, it’s perfect! Thanks so much!

Lu -My husband LOVES the biscuit recipe!! Easy and so fluffy and tasty! Also, the Chicken Stew was delicious and easy, too! The Chicken Salad recipe that uses Ramen Noodles and slaw was fabulous!! EVERY recipe I’ve tried has been wonderful!! Best cookbook purchase I’ve ever made…

Sherry – I made your butter finger cake last year for Easter and it was a big hit! My sister wanted it for her bday! I make alot of your recipes, made chili sauce last week. Love your. Chicken and dressing in crock pot, beefy noodle casserole and chocolate cobbler!! All your recipes are great!

Patricia – I made Mama Reed’s Southern Style Rice Pudding last week. My husband loves rice pudding and I usually make extra of anything I make to take to his dad. The day after I took it to my father-in-law and asked him how he liked it, he said “it was so good it made his tongue smack his lips”! Love your recipes and have many more I want to try!

Kelley – Slow cooker dressingChicken Planks… Oh so many to list… Thank you for doing what you do. These were easy and my kids liked them… Even my picky hubby :)

Jeanine -OH the SYMPHONY BROWNIES~~how could I forget THOSE??!!!! YUM!!!!!

Suzette – My word! Your biscuits are the best you can get anywhere! So soft and fluffy and my husband eats them and he doesn’t even like biscuits!

Tammy – We have LOVED every recipe I’ve tried! Thank you, thank you!! We really enjoyed the Mexican Chicken Casserole!! (new love is the Vanilla Chai ~ oh. my. word. Bless your heart for sharing that one!) =)

Stacy – My all time favorite Southern Plate recipe are the Jordan Rolls. First because my son’s name is Jordan and secondly, these are tasty and so easy to make. I have been searching for years for that perfect dinner roll and these are now the family staple. You don’t spend all day in the kitchen with these rolls and they don’t require a lot of maintenance. You will not be disappointed.

Anita – Lately I’ve made the Tender Baby Back Ribs, Creamy Chicken Skillet, Fried Cabbage, Hobo Packets, Slow Cooked Pork Roast, Fried Corn and Grilled Chicken Tenderloins (Without the grill) Loved them all.

Barbara – Loved the grilled chicken tenders ( without the grill). Made them sunday, all eaten up, so monday had to make my grandson some more….delicious!

Julie -Christy, one of my all-time favorites of yours – actually, your mamas – is the Strawberry Cobbler recipe! It is one awesome dish! The fact that it is so easy to make puts it at the top of my dessert list! You and I fortunately live in the south, where strawberries are found all over the roadsides in spring – much juicier and bigger than what you can get in the grocery. My mama brought me some strawberries from Plant City last week and your cobbler is a must! Thanks for sharing it with us and I hope you feel better real soon!!! Julie Hutson, Nanny’s Candied Dill Pickles ;-)

Libby- Hey Christy! So glad to help! You help us all the time, it’s the least we can do! I’ve made several things so far and my husband enjoyed everything! Our favorite thing so far is the Sweet and Sour Green Beans  I’m a huge green bean fan and these are SO TASTY! I’ve never been a vinegar fan, but it really kicks these babies up a notch! I don’t usually have bacon on hand, so when I do, I make these a couple of times..LOVE THEM as a side to ANY meal! I do prefer frozen green beans over canned, which I used the first time cause that’s all I had on hand. I’ll post a few things we LOVE!

Rebekah - Chicken stew- it was easy and delicious.

Libby -OK, second thing we LOVE and especially me, cause it makes several meals at a time for us since its just me and Kellly, is your Crock Pot Chicken and Dressing ! This has to be one of the EASIEST and BEST dressings EVER! It’s nearly a complete meal all by itself..just add a green veggie and your all set! I LOVE this the most because it allows me to put some up in the freezer in individual servings to reheat later when I’m not up to cooking dinner. After cooking / serving people all weekend in our restaurant New Market Bar-B-Q, I’m sometimes just too tired or uninspired to cook! This is one of the BIGGEST reasons why I love your site! You INSPIRE me to cook! Thanks for all you do girl! Keep up the GREAT WORK!

Linda – Christy, I like your Dad’s hotdog chili recipe and make it often. I like it because it is a simple to make recipie. I make and freeze and then have on hand whenever we want hotdogs w/chili. I also can use it as a base for chili soup. Thanks for sharing.

Ginger -we love the potato soup and corn chowder!

Ronnie – I have made the Symphony brownies,do I REALLY need to tell you what my family loved bout them? Also the Oreo ice cream cake, quick and very simple yet soooo yummy!! Chicken planks are next,or Mexican chicken casserole,or????Love All your recipes as well as the personal commentaries that go with them!Thank you so much for bringin the South to Eugene Oregon!!

Kayla-I have made the yellow cake with peanut butter icing a couple of times lately. It’s so good! My grandmother used to make that cake but her mind isn’t what it used to be so she doesn’t cook anymore. It reminds me of being a kid. :-) Plus, I’m a huge peanut butter lover!

Traci -Grill Chicken tenders (without the grill)Chicken StewChicken and Wild Rice CasseroleCrockpot MeatloafBoiled PotatoesCappucino Cake  Christy, All your recipes were all wonderful, simple and my family loved them.

Libby- OK, so I have a veggie, a main course, so now I’ll share my FAVORITE dessert! FRESH Strawberry Cake with Strawberry Cream Cheese Frosting  I make this as a special in our restaurant New Market Bar-B-Q and it is REALLY our biggest MOVER on specials that we do..folks just LOVE this cake and so do I! I prefer the strawberries mixed into the icing, but they can be added on top too! I just LOVE the flavor of the strawberries mixed in. There are so many of your desserts that I’ve made and not a single one of them are bad, so it was really hard to pick my favorite..I’ve always been a strawberry fan though, so I knew this would make the top of the list! Hope this helps! Good luck with the new cookbook Christy! Let me know if I can help you in any other way lady! Hope to see you soon. Hugs!

Lisa -Oh Cristy, it would be easier to tell you which recipes I haven’t tried yet of yours. I love your site and it is my “go to” when I need a recipe to cook. One of our family favorites is your Crock Pot Lasagna. The first time I made it all I had was the “oven ready” noodles. Tried them and it turned out ok, but made it last week with regular noodles, it was so much better. I will never use the oven ready again!

Andrea -With gardens eagerly being put together with all this warm weather across the South, I have to pitch to everyone, Southern Plate’s “Broccoli Salad.” I make this on almost a weekly basis because it is so healthy! I can’t wait for garden broccoli to grace this salad. The dressing of mayo, sugar and white vinegar tames the rawness of the broccoli (since that can be an issue with some people) and the mingling of the tastes (it has bacon in it!) is mouth-wateringly GREAT. Also, with or without onions, you’ll love it.

Ruthie – So many recipes, so little time! One of my very favorites has to be your 1000 Island salad dressing. You have never tasted 1000 Island until you’ve tasted yours! So easy to make. Keeps well. And I could really just eat it by itself with a spoon :)

Lauren - Daddy’s Rise and Shine Biscuits. I’ve told you before how much i love them and i shall continue to do so for a long time. We eat them with white gravy, chocolate syrup, or just by themselves with butter :-) and i’ve found this recipe interesting because the more you knead it, the taller the biscuit! Which is super cool. I use a drinking glass as my biscuit cutter. Perfect radius every time… One recipe change that I make is that I never need the extra half cup of buttermilk. Sometimes a little less than a cup does the trick! So go easy on your buttermilk folks! A sticky biscuit dough is no fun at all and will flop every time… Feel better friend!!! Lots of love to you from your Okie gal pals!!!

Tonya – I am in love with your corn chowder…sometimes I just make a pot for myself to eat of for a few days. super easy, quick and cheap

Cindy -Love the Home Made Cream Corn ! I am requested to bring it to all family dinners ! Then there is just some many easy and fast supper recipes and I think they are all my favorite lol !

Kolene – The baby back ribs are my favorite! Everything I have made from your recipes has been a treat and success!

Coming across Southern Plate has been the best site for me!

God Bless and thank you so much!!

Melissa- I love making the Pizza Rolls. i make a ton of the filling and then freeze it in small portions so that we can make one at a time if we need to! i use hot dog rolls for the kiddoes!

Beverly – I have tried the Strawberry Cake that you said that your Dad loved, it was wonderful and my family said, “Make this again, soon”

Jennifer – We have made and loved multiple batches of apple butter. It is so good, and easy too. Comeback sauce is delicious. My absolute favorite is the hamburger stew. It goes together quickly, and is very forgiving. I just throw in whatever veggies we have. Hmm..what else? The butter rolls are delicious too. We have loved everything we have tried.

Jean – Last night, I was in a hurry to make supper so I made the Taco Pizza. It was wonderful! Its so quick & easy to make! My family loves it and wants me to make it again. I also made the Fresh Strawberry-ade. I love how its tart & sweet at the same time. My favorite meal to make is the Southern Steak with Milk Gravy, Meme’s Mashed Potatoes and Hoe Cake. This meal is also easy to make and very tasty. I love the Southern Plate cookbook. There are several and I mean several recipes in there that I love to prepare and my family loves to eat!

Marybeth –  this has to be one of my all time favorites of your recipes and tutorials as it was so full of happy memories of yours and it made me think of times with my daddy and my grandparents as well but the buttermilk pie is heavenly my grandmother made it when i was little shes been gone a long time so when i found this i made it THAT day and it was every bit as good as hers… but to be truthful I have not had a recipe of yours that wasnt absolutely delicious thank you so much Christy!

Robin -I made the Banana Crumb cake with some very ripe banana’s. It sure was yummy!!! Everyone liked it!

Angela - Grilled Chicken without the grill is something my family LOVES!! You gotta try it, folks!

Liz – Loved, Loved, Loved your Southern Fried Cabbage. I made it this weekend and my family ate the whole pot in less than 30 minutes. With just 2 ingredients, I just couldnt resist, had to run out the day I saw your post and get cabbage. A friend of mine saw that I liked your post and made some also. She loved it too. ♥ I tried to post a picture on your page, but I am afraid it is lost out in fb land somewhere. Lol

Anita -I made House Autry pork chops last night, served with fresh brussel sprouts sauteed in garlic & butter with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice when they were done. The starch was packaged noodles and sauce. I also introduced my sis in law to your website. She now loves me forever.

Debbie –  ONE of my favorites is the Buttermilk Congealed Salad! I can pick the flavor, it tastes so good, everything is always on hand, easy & fast, it tastes so good, it’s a side dish, it’s a dessert, and did I mention it tastes sooo good! Anything with the addition of buttermilk has got to be good, but don’t let that throw you off if you’re not a fan. Even my folks around here that don’t care for buttermilk (how is that possible!) like this salad…as long as I don’t tell them ahead of time what the ingredients are! Well, now I’ve made myself want some. I believe I’ll go stir up a recipe for this evening. And, now the hard part. What flavor?

Melinda -Your taco soup it is so good. My family loves it!!!

Leona – I’m fairly new to Southern Plate and boy am I glad I found you! I just tried your Homemade Banana Pudding last weekend and it was so delicious and very easy to make. I highly recommend it and DH does too. I want to try all your recipes. :)

Vera – love the chocolate gravy recipe because it looks sooo good on faces of my Grandchildren

Lisa – The Chinese chicken salad is wonderful. It makes a lot, is delicious, lasts for a few days, and is perfect for the hot weather we are already experiencing.

Kim – I just made the buttermilk peach pie last Friday…yum! I took it to my grandma’s house to share with her. You could smell the aroma of cinnamon and peaches wafting through the house. Even her dog Daisy would stop every once in a while and sniff the air. It was easy to make, and you couldn’t tell the peaches came from a can. Sadly I had remaining batter that I couldn’t fit into the pie, and it met an untimely demise, though my daughter was willing to eat it raw-but as it had uncooked eggs…sigh. So tonight I’m gonna make it again, but with an additional 14.5 oz can of peaches and an extra pie shell (one’ll be deep and another won’t) and inflict pain and suffering on my coworkers. That’s my goal in life :) , I refuse to suffer alone.

Stacey – My parents visited last week and I made the grilled chicken tenderloins, baked Mac and cheese, Jordan rolls, and butterfinger cake. They just loved all of it. I then gave my mom a copy of your cookbook and she went through the whole book. She is already planning some new meals!

Debbie -Just made your Buttermilk Peach Pie! Dee-LISH! Easy and tasty and I used low sugar peaches!

Pattie -My favorite dish is the HOBO PACKETS because my 7 yr is able to make the dish from start to finish by himself. givings him the accomplishment that he made a meal for the family with no help other than putting the cookie sheets with packets into the oven. He even sets the table for us which with hobo packets a little weird but in our house it’s top of the line when your 7yr made it for dinner :o )

Jana – Daddy’s Rise and Shine Biscuits are the best!! I have tried numerous biscuit recipes trying to find something similar to what my Grandmother used to make. My poor family suffered through my biscuit trial and errors as I tried to find the perfect recipe. In our home now, there is always biscuits. When daughter comes in from college, she wants biscuits and gravy. I get the head nod of pure delight and approval from her. She is a biscuit and gravy expert, because she had the pleasure of being spoiled by Great-Grandma who made them at any time of the day she requested it.

Kay – Easiest Ever Cream Corn! Now taht is what we are having with supper tonight. Grandkids love it. Hope your hand is better soon.

Helene – I would just say, start from the beginning and make something new everyday. Everything I have made has been delicious, so try it all.

Vikki – Oh, your chocolate pie with meringue topping without a doubt!! Have made it many times and it’s always a hit.

Val – I love your apple butter recipe. have made it a couple of times. I can it and use it as gifts. I have made a great many of your recipes. Husband’s favorites are your hashbrown casserole and apple dumplings. You have a wonderful site. Look forward to your posting daily.

Sandra – Having to choose my favorite would be totally impossible. So I’m looking forward to having Miss Patsy’s Too Easy Coconut Cake for Easter lunch. It is requested for every family get-together. I love it because you can make it ahead of time for best results.

Gayle Spears The Fried Cabbage is awesome; have had many requests for the receipe; Chicken planks are good, Country Chicken Casserole is great, we like the Crunchy Beef Casserole too; the sweet & sour green beans are the bomb!! My picky husband and son both love them! To be honest, I think that everything I’ve tried has been great! Thank you for sharing. :-)

Amy- We made Granny Jordan’s Chicken Salad last night. I love it because it reminds me of the one my grandmother used to make!

Debbie- My family loves, loves, loves the fried corn, Mexican cornbread, slow cooker cornbread dressing, and chicken and dumplings. I have tried many of the other recipes and they are ALL easy and delicious. Ingredients are always either on hand or easily available.

Laurie-I’ve tried and loved SO MANY recipes. Everything I’ve tried has such clear instructions that I CANNOT make a mistake even on the few complicated recipes. Thanks for that, by the way, because I get so easily distracted in the middle of kitchen creations. My current favorites that I am taking everywhere I get the chance to share them are: the Vanilla Chai Mix, Pound Cake and Custard Sauce, Nilla Wafer Cake, and Chocolate Velvet cake.

Everyone at work and at church raves over them all and I just direct them to your website and assure them that you are just as sweet and silly in person.

Laurie - P.S. It was so worth every minute and every drop of gas to drive from Springfield, Missouri to Florence, Alabama to come to your luncheon and Holiday cooking show at UNA. I am saving pennies and hoping to repeat it again next year. :o ) Praying that gas prices go down a bit between now and then too.

Crystal – I made the fried cabbage. Oh my. My husband and I loved it! I made it because I am on a low carb diet and it works!

Jenny – I have made your grilled chicken without the grill, chicken fingers and comeback sauce, cold brewed coffee, House Autry pork chops, banana bread and your crock pot apple butter. I have made all of these several times. There is much more I want to try. I have given away lots of jars of the apple butter. I never knew making apple butter could be so easy. I get lots of compliments on my cooking from my husband. i have to give you some of the credit.

Christy - Chicken Planks, Fresh Strawberry Cake, Shipwreck Casserole. When is your new cookbook coming out? (Answer: Spring 2013 :)

Christy – Or is there a new cookbook? I thought I read it somewhere. Oh, and I thought of another recipe of yours that my husband and kids LOVE–the homemade thousand island dressing (I like ranch). Love your recipes and can’t wait to try more! Thanks for all you do!!!!

Jenny -Oh!!! i forgot to add that I have made your Southern Pulled Pork several times. Love it because it makes a lot and I freeze it in meal portions.

Laura -love all your recipes (hubby too) and have tried many main dishes and sides – always meet with success, but the recipe most often used in a tight pinch (always beautifully browned & universally enjoyed) are the 10 minute biscuit/rolls - yummy – sooooo easy & delish :)

Patricia – The taco soup is my favorite!

SOOOOOO excited!! I FINALLY got to order your 1st cookbook!!!! I’ve wanted that book since you first talked about it, but our budget had been VERY slim. Gonna consider it one of my birthday presents from my mother (she sends money and I’ve looked for something really special to get with it.) Only two days way-from Amazon (gotta love that Prime that came free with my student account.)

Have fixed your Almost Grilled Chicken 3 days in a row. I used small whole boneless breasts and made sandwiches. Picked up some sandwich rolls @ Wally World Bakery . Just used Miracle Whip and honey mustard added a side salad . Better than any chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. Thanks Christy ,You Rock !

Your Chicken Stew has found it’s way into the list of staple dishes demanded for cold months. Love it! We’re also big fans of the Sweet and Sour Green Beans. My boyfriend actually bought me a copy of your cookbook for Christmas and any time he comes to eat, he asks me to surprise him with something out of your cookbook.
