Triple Chocolate Brownie Pie

When I told my family about Pie Day Fridays, that I was posting a new pie recipe each Friday this summer, my daughter frowned and announced in a very disappointed tone that she didn’t like pie…

She wasn’t speaking from experience, though, because she’d really not tried pie much in her lifetime. So I set out to make a pie that my chocolate loving daughter wouldn’t be able to refuse.

Now once y’all see this recipe you’ll probably think “Oh that’s just too simple.” Some folks might even think it is so simple that it shouldn’t even be called a recipe, but I think most of y’all will be more in my mindset of “Oh that is so simple, it’s wonderful!”

If you’re like me and have never met a brownie you didn’t like, you’re gonna love this pie.

And yes, Katy Rose says she loves pie now so all is right in my little world :).

You’ll need: a pouch of brownie mix, chocolate chips, and a regular unbaked pie crust.

You’re also going to need whatever ingredients that brownie mix calls for so take a gander at the back and make sure you have that on hand. It’s usually just a bit of oil, an egg, and some water (which I usually substitute milk for but either way works fine).

Mix up brownie mix according to package directions.

Don’t you know that little hands helping make everything taste better?

Like dis :)

That is me saying “this” with a spanish accent, which is as close as I can possibly come to speaking Spanish. I admire folks who can speak more than one language, but I’m not one of them. I think the hard drive on my brain is full :) This will be interesting next week as I venture to yet another Spanish speaking country with nothing beyond my nearly forgotten American Sign Language skills and an Alabama accent. Hopefully, you’ll be following my posts on that trip by tuning into my facebook page or checking out this post each day for new links to my journal entries.

Oh my! Oh MY!! Would you look at that pie!!! Sure looks wonderful and easy! This chocoholic will be making this in the very near future, that’s for sure! Thank you, Christy. OXOXOXO

Christy, Graham cracker crusts aren’t meant to be baked. I think it would burn. But since it is brownie mix, why not make it without a crust at all. I think i will do that. Just prepare the pan as directed for baking brownies (as per package). You can still call it pie ’cause it is cut in a pie shape.

Christy, Hello from Massachusetts, Would some nuts be ok to put in the pie? And how much 1/2 cup? And would I have to bake it longer, because of the added nuts? sorry for so many question’s but the boys won’t eat any chocolate unless it has nuts in it! Thanks for your time, love all your recipe’s Mary Paquette

    Christy,
I just love your pie day Friday’s. I enjoy seeing the new ideas. It reminds me of when my siblings and I were growing up we did not have Birthday Cakes, nope we had Birthday Pies. On our Birthday our Mother, one of the pair of God’s Gift to us kids, would let us choose what the supper menu and the desert was to be and not a one of us would choose a cake, nope it had to be a pie, even our Daddy wanted his coconut cream pie. Can not wait till next Friday.

I made this for my husband for Father’s day. I forgot the chocolate chips but it was still delicious! Topped with ice cream and poured the hard shell stuff on top, plus a little carmel, his favorite!
    what a treat! Thank you!

This is wonderful. My husband and adult son enjoyed this for their Father’s Day treat as well as your peanut butter cookies from “Peanut Butter Cookies and a Few Giggles”. Thanks so much for all your hard work. God bless you and your ministry.
