This time I’d like to thank my good blogging buddy Tina at Mommy’s Kitchen! She made hoe cake today, despite the blazing Texas heat, and posted the greatest pics of it on her site along with an exceptionally kind review of southernplate.com!
I have loved Tina’s blog since I first found it. Being a fellow southerner, we have the same tastes in food. Still, I am always delighted and surprised to find that we share many of the same recipes for family favorites, such as the way we make chicken and dumplings!
She made the most delicious looking Salisbury steaks for her dinner when she made the hoe cake. Can you believe I’ve never had homemade Salisbury steaks before? Fortunately, I got a quick heads up email from her while I was at the grocery store and I grabbed all I needed to make them tomorrow!! They are cooked in the crock pot, no less!
Please go check out Tina’s blog and lets see how many of us can make Salisbury steaks this week! I’m going to bed now so tomorrow will hurry up and get here!
Thank you, Tina!
Oh Tina, I start licking that frosting as soon as I begin stirring it together! I also love to leave a few drops of evaporated milk in the can and drink that real quick when no one is looking before I throw the can in the trash. Secret confessions of a home cook here! LOL
Let me tell you, THOSE SALISBURY STEAKS WERE DELICIOUS!
It is a rare thing that I find something new to add to our menu which my whole family loves but those are now on the menu for the rest of our lives!!!!
My husband said it was his new favorite meal! Stephanie, you just have to make them!!!!
For anyone reading this, click on Mommy’s Kitchen (two comments up) and the recipe is there. Most heavenly salisbury steaks I’ve ever had and so simple to make! Also, VERY filling and pretty darn inexpensive!
I saw that post as well. Those salisbury steaks do look delicious!
Christy this is only one of my favorite cakes. My Mother in Law lost the recipe for the one she makes and it is to die for. Your recipe is now my very own. That frosting is just to die for. Another Southern Favorite Ü I am telling ya girl I think we are twins that were seperated at birth.
