A few weeks back I posted about my back to school resolution and how it has become a challenge in the middle of my ever growing schedule to find time to make supper each night. I’ve employed some creative solutions such as cooking up meals ahead of time, freezing, and using my slow cooker more. I’ve even tried ~takes a breath~ planning. I hate that part of it. I’m really a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants gal when it comes to supper. I like to just wait and see what I’m in the mood for when it comes time to cook. I also don’t enjoy cooking ahead as that takes the fun out of getting to cook each night for me, but I’m working on developing new habits in order to be able to adjust to a more demanding work schedule and still keep family the top priority – and it’s working.

Today, I’d like for you to tell me how your back to school resolutions are going and we have a special treat for those who leave a comment!

  1. I’m Granna to my grandkids who are home-schooled. My resolution for their school year is to teach them (& myself) some Spanish. It’s going slower than I expected but we are having FUN with it. The most fun was when we made a Tres Leches cake. Maybe a Nook would help keep the learning fun; I understand there are some interactive books for kids available for Nooks…..And BTW, never think we might mind 2 emails in one day, at least certainly not when there are 2 giveaways.!

  2. I no longer have children in school but back-to-school time reminds me to be mindful of slowing down and watching for the kiddies when I am driving.

  3. I really am trying to plan ahead what to cook for supper each night, but it’s hard. Sometimes I don’t know what I want til 2 in the afternoon. Then I end of scrambling to get something thawed. I love to read and would love a Nook. Our library just started loaning ebooks. Thanks.

  4. hello! I LOVE my Nook!! I have been trying to make my lunch every day (I’m a teacher) and have done very well!! Only eaten fast food a few times 🙂

  5. I wanted to leave work earlier to make more time to exercise and spend more time with my family. This is not going that well.

  6. I dont even really know what a Nook is, but I am going to find out, hey cool, I want one.its pretty quiet here since all of the neighbor kids have gone back to school. One little girl is getting some poor grades and I told her not to be afraid to ask the teacher for help. I got behind in school because I was afraid people would think I was stupid unfortunately I never caught up. I just found out she has an after school tutor. GOOD !!
