A few weeks back I posted about my back to school resolution and how it has become a challenge in the middle of my ever growing schedule to find time to make supper each night. I’ve employed some creative solutions such as cooking up meals ahead of time, freezing, and using my slow cooker more. I’ve even tried ~takes a breath~ planning. I hate that part of it. I’m really a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants gal when it comes to supper. I like to just wait and see what I’m in the mood for when it comes time to cook. I also don’t enjoy cooking ahead as that takes the fun out of getting to cook each night for me, but I’m working on developing new habits in order to be able to adjust to a more demanding work schedule and still keep family the top priority – and it’s working.

Today, I’d like for you to tell me how your back to school resolutions are going and we have a special treat for those who leave a comment!

  1. Hi Christy,
Love the website. Started back to school July 13th 2011 after having been out for over 30 years (eye-opening experience for sure!!!). Actually our “back-to-school” resolution is going quite well especially since my “other half” thinks the idea was his….LOL!!! “We” resolved to cycle our dinner responsibilities daily. His night one night my night the next. We don’t call each other and ask what the other wants. We just fix it then clean the kitchen so the next person’s turn starts with a clean kitchen. It hasn’t worked perfect EVERY night but it HAS worked more nights than none.
Keep cranking out those recipes WITH PREP PICTURES…..LOVE IT!!!!

  2. My husband gave me a nook for our anniversary! Yeah!
I accidently stepped on it and broke it. Boo Hoo!
I would love to have a replacement and it would never be on the floor for even a second.

  3. Christy I love your recipes, my mama and grandma are no longer with me, but I swear every time I read one of your blogs I can hear one of them. Thank you for keeping their memories alive.

  4. This would be great. I also have grown up children, but now have great, wonderful grandkids. Going to their school activities and sports reminds me of when my children were young, it also keeps my young. Thanks u are a great person.
