How to Make Crescent Roll Meat Pies

Separate crescent roll dough into triangles.

First, open your chilled crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.

This is best if your dough is really cold. If you let it sit at room temperature it gets very sticky and stretchy and harder to work with.

Place deli roast beef in center of triangle.

Place chopped deli roast beef into the center of the dough triangle and then add the rest of the ingredients!

Add deli chicken to center of triangle.

That includes the chopped deli chicken breast…

Add shredded mozzarella cheese to triangle.

The shredded mozzarella cheese…

Add shredded cheddar cheese to triangle.

The shredded cheddar cheese…

Add tomatoes to center of triangle.

And a teaspoon of drained Ro-Tel tomatoes.

The whole time, you should make sure you leave plenty of room at the edge to seal the packet.

Seal dough into a ball.

Now it’s time to roll the triangle of crescent dough into your meat pie ball.

Bake them at 350 for 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown.

Transport them to the campsite in an ice-filled cooler. Place them at the fire’s edge or over hot coals until heated through.

  1. Pillsbury sells a ‘crescent roll sheet’ (one sheet of dough, not perforated) – you could portion those much easier than using the rolls!

  2. I like leftovers: hot dog sliced thin, fried cabbage with onion and mustard and drained Pork n beans. sealed in the cresent or a flattened out canned biscuit, then roll it in cornmeal.
