Now Admitting New Members To My Front Porch Fellowship!
If you would like to join us in reading through the entire Bible, from start to finish, in one year, now is the time to join our fellowship group. Each day I post the readings before 4:00 AM along with my notes on background, historical context, etc, and members read and chime in with their contributions in the comments. Our fellowship is made up of over 10,000 people and we are from all denominations and walks of life but we come together to read the Word and let the Word teach the Word – the Bible itself is our text book, our study guide, and our reference book!
Membership is only open for a window of time each year and we begin reading again on October 2. Click here to request to join but make sure you answer the questions you’ll be asked when requesting membership in order to be admitted. You can read a few testimonies from other Fellowship members and check out our reading plans by clicking here.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Thank you for being here and thank you for being a light in the world!
Gratefully,
Christy Phil 1:12

Still love your recipes!
Thank you
Happy Friday and thank you for all you share!
Hey Christy,
I’ve been dehydrating, freezing, and jamming for quite a while. My problem is that once I’ve dehydrated it, I love to stand back and look at the beauty of what I’ve done, (while I’m patting myself on the back)….unfortunately…..it doesn’t get used very often. But, my sweet husband thinks it’s wonderful, and I guess that makes it worth it.
Love The New look!! I also want to thank you for all the great recipes. We eat low carb and it’s great to get some yummy recipes as I love to try new things. Almost every Monday my husband and I deliver food to Ft K, which is a non-profit resource place for homeless and/displaced vets. It’s a hand up not a handout place but where they can get a hot meal out of the crock pot while job srarching, counseling etc… I’ve used several of your recipes and they are eagerly eaten. Thank you for adding variety to my life!! Blessings~~ Catherine
What a wonderful blessing you are to so many Catherine!!!

Thank you!
Love your recipes and positive outlook!!
I just mentioned to my husband yesterday that I thought some tenderized steak would be good on Saturday! We don’t eat supper during the week, so Saturdays are the day I make a big meal and then we have leftovers for Sunday lunch after church.
Good morning from Milton, Fl This is my first visit and I am looking forward to it.
Good Morning Virginia! I’m thrilled to have you here!
Good morning, Virginia. I’m from Milton, Fl, also. I was transplanted in Huntsville, Al many years ago and love it here, but Milton will always be home. I know Christy and am so glad you have found her. She is one of God’s finest creations! Not only does she share recipes like my mother used to make (they are the same southern recipes her ancestors made), she is “salt of the earth good people.” You will love her and her recipes (along with the recipes she shares from other southern recipe bloggers)l Keep coming back!

Christy knows me beat as Aunt Charley
I love the TACO quote !
Heehee, isn’t it awesome?
Oh Christy, these dishes look amazing! I am so intrigued by the “water pie” perhaps I will serve it with stone soup! 🙂 Our ancestors were so creative, we have lost that I fear, out of our abundance! Happy Friday!
OH my goodness that is BRILLIANT!!!! Happy Friday to you, too, friend!
Thank you for visiting me today!
Love everything on here!
JoAnne thank you so much!
Ok think I found the right spot to comment now… ha, getting older is not helping!

I have popped on your website every once in awhile but always enjoy what I read, see and hear through the recipes. I love your faith and how you are sharing it the with the world.
Great format! I really like it. Love having everything together like this.
Hi Christy
Never miss a post! Love them all thank you for sharing and for all your efforts.
Best
Amy
I love to see your recipes and your quotes make my day. Thank you for bringing a smile to each of us.
I love the “I love you” quote. I have family members like that. I know what’s in their heart and I love them.
Have been a Southern Plate fan for many years. Have been wanting to join in the Front Porch Fellowship bible reading, but I do not have a Facebook page. (Many good (or bad) reasons for this. However, have considered setting up a page just for this bible reading group. Are your discussions just “whenever” or during a certain time period each day?
The multi-tasking quote is so me !!! I am going to try the water pie too, I love old recipes from the past as well as the new ones.
I love the chicken and yellow rice recipe. It has gone into my cookbook to share with my daughter and granddaughter. When they compliment something I have cooked, I often say “It is one of Christy’s recipes”. And they both know who exactly I am talking about.
In our house my husband asks “ Is this a recipe from The Plate Lady?” More often than not, it is.
You are a wonderful source for delicious meals! Thanks
I am so glad I found your site. Your recipes bring back a lot of memories. Raised in Al. and all of our women cooked from scratch, mostly farm food. I’m seriously looking at the steak and milk gravy for this weekend. 🙂
I like the rich life quote! So true. Thanks Christy!
So many good recipes to choose from. Love all the ones I’ve tried. Thank you Christy!
Hi Christy,
I love all your dehydrating posts and tips!! I’ve done the frozen veggies and jerky. The cantaloupe sounds interesting. Can I ask how long it took to dehydrate the melon??
Thanks so much for all your hard work. Love the recipes!!!
Diane
I like the new Gazette. I like the fact that everything is together and so much more convenient. Thank you Christy.
Cube steak – yum yum yum yum !!
Sort of made the Cream Cheese Banana Bread this weekend.* I used my own banana bread recipe and doubled the cream cheese and sugar in the recipe but not the egg (I use jumbo), added vanilla, and totally forgot the flour. Still worked! I plan to make that Water Pie the next time I have an unused pie crust on hand.
*That’s how I bake, recipes are suggestions and I always end up doing something a bit different unless it is a dish with which I’m not familiar, then I stick to the recipe – the first time. 🙂
So glad it worked, I like the way you think!
Love it all. Can’t always watch the chat live, but love them when I do.
Thank you so much Lisa!!!
You are correct! the gazette format is a great resource. I hope I can get in on the next round of t-shirts…..for me staying caught up on everything is making me a taco! I love the Scripture you put by your signature….very affirming. Although I rarely get to be at the chat ‘live’…technology is our friend enabling the archives. Blessings to you my sister 🙂 🙂
Oh and P.S. …thanks for new recipes!! Always needed!!
I do not do Facebook. Is there any other way to participate in your fellowship group?
