Oh, my gosh! I had to laugh about the spikes! For some strange reason my husband calls Brussels sprouts, asparagus balls! In my mind, neither taste anywhere near the same, but we have both frequently! I think asparagus are my most favorite veggie, and I love them (both!), roasted with olive oil and fresh grated parm! Enjoy!
