The following is a bunch of legal stuff I have to use in order to give my publisher rights to print the winning recipes in my next book and also to give me rights to make your recipe on tv during my book tour if I need to. I’ll give you credit, of course! 🙂
NOTICE TO ONLINE ENTRANTS
In the event of a dispute over the identity of an online entrant, entry will be deemed submitted by the “Authorized Account Holder” of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. Authorized Account Holder means the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered, or mass entries or entries generated by a script, macro or use of automated devices are void. The Sponsor is not responsible for: (i) lost, late, misdirected, damaged or illegible entries; or (ii) error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive entry information by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site or any combination thereof; or (iii) any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in this Contest. By participating in the Contest, you (i) agree to be bound by these official rules, including all eligibility requirements, and (ii) agree to be bound by the decisions of Sponsor and the independent judging organization, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Contest. Failure to comply with these Official Rules may result in disqualification. Contest Sponsor reserves the right to: (i) permanently disqualify from any Contest it sponsors any person it believes has intentionally violated these Official Rules; and (ii) withdraw the online method of entry if it becomes technically corrupted (including if a computer virus or system malfunction inalterably impairs its ability to conduct the Contest), and to select winners from among all eligible entries received prior to withdrawal.

OFFICIAL RULES
Eligibility: The 2015 Southern Plate “Make Your Grandma Famous!” (the “Contest”) is open to legal residents of the 50 United States, and the District of Columbia (U.S.), age 18 or older at time of entry. Void outside the United States, in Puerto Rico, and wherever else prohibited by law. This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
To enter online, visit our website at www.southernplate.com and follow the directions provided. Online entries must be received between 12:01 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) on Sunday, February 15, 2015, and 12:01 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) on Sunday, March 7, 2015 (the “Entry Period”). Only one individual may submit an entry at one time and only one entry for a specific named recipe will be eligible. Duplicate entries for the same recipe are not allowed.
There is no limit to the number of online entries you may submit, but each recipe must be submitted by one person only and must be original, unpublished, tested in your home kitchen, and may not have won any other recipe contest. Entries will not be acknowledged or returned. Sponsor is not responsible for incomplete, illegible, lost, late, mutilated, misdirected or postage-due mailed entries or for transmission defaults, computer server failure and/or delayed, garbled or corrupted data transmissions for entries submitted via the Internet.
By entering this contest, you grant the Contest Sponsor reserve the right to edit, adapt, copyright and publish any or all recipe entries and to use these entries in any media form or in any manner without attribution or further compensation.
Recipe specifics:
Recipe Name: Each recipe must have a name.
Recipe Inspiration: List any comments or food memories about the recipe and special person who shared the recipe with you (ie. your mother, grandmother, aunt, dear family friend, etc).
Finished Recipe: Garnishes are optional. Contest Sponsor reserves the right to change any decorative elements for photography purposes.
If selected for testing, recipes may be modified to meet Southern Plate recipe editing guidelines and reader appeal.
Entry and acceptance of any prize constitutes permission for Sponsor or their agent(s) to use winner’s name, recipe submission, hometown, and likeness for inclusion in online posting and promotional purposes without further compensation, except where prohibited by law.
Legal Notices: Contest Entrant warrants that with respect to his/her entry, the submitted recipe does not infringe on any copyrights or intellectual property rights, is original and has never been published or previously awarded a prize in a recipe contest. By entering this Contest, all Entrants agree to abide by the Official rules, the decisions of the judges and to release and hold the Contest Entities harmless from any and all claims and liability with respect to the conduct, administration and execution of the Contest. Entrant agrees that his/her entry becomes the property of Southern Plate and hereby assigns his/her intellectual property rights to Contest Sponsor and also permits participating Sponsors to use the recipes in any media, including on the Internet, for commercial, editorial, or any other purpose whatsoever, without compensation, except where not allowable. Contest Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the Contest Rules, promotional materials, the administration of the Contest or in the announcement of the prizes.
