Her children rise up and call her blessed~ Proverbs 31:28
Oh Mothers.. you are the royalty that wear no crowns. The best advice givers, and greatest confidants. You are your kids cheerleaders, teachers, friends, role models, medical attention, spiritual warriors and oh so much more. There’s nothing you wouldn’t do to make your little ones smile, and no matter how old they get, there’s no one in the world who can replace you. Because mothers are created blessings from God, and at the end of the day, you’ve helped each of your people become who they are and who they will continue to be.
So, without a doubt, we rise up and call you BLESSED. Blessed for choosing to be goodness and compassion to your children. Blessed for nurturing hope in a dark world.
Did you know that over 80% of the women we serve at Fashion & Compassion are Mothers?
We know that women take on many roles. This Mother’s Day F&C would like to take the time to thank the mothers that have helped each of us become who we are, and the seeds of love and compassion they have sown in to our lives. We would like to celebrate the many artisans we serve who take on the role of a Mother and wear the title so proudly.
From our mothers in Uganda who work day to day to send their children to school, to our Burmese mothers who have overcome refugee situations to be in the United States to support their children, to our mothers who have overcome addiction in hopes to be reunited with their families, Mothers have beautiful hearts and are some of the strongest women we know. We have seen mothers step out of abusive situations to protect their children, or mothers who have hidden from oppressive governments to give their children a chance at a fair life.
“I would do anything for my kids. I just want them to be happy and have a good life. When they are happy, I am happy”- Norma (refugee from Mexico).
Norma is one of the many mothers we work with who have fought through adversity to give her kids the best. She has risked her life to make sure her children have access to good education and safe housing. The heart of a Mother is just like Norma’s- willing to give everything for the sake of her children.
You go, Mommas, we love you, and we celebrate you!
If you have a great Mom, Mum, Mother, Grandma, Mammie, or Momma, tell her how much you love her and appreciate her by gifting her the beautifully handcrafted “The Sweetness Remains” cuffs or one of our many other gorgeous handcrafted pieces.
Love,
A Daughter to an Amazing Mother
