Southern Smothered Chicken

Skin-on and bone-in chicken thighs and drumsticks Zoup! Good, Really Good® Chicken Bone Broth

Mix flour, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and cayenne on a plate. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.


Coat chicken thighs and drumsticks in the spiced flour mixture. Brown the chicken in the skillet for 1-2 minutes per side, then set aside.


Cook onions in the skillet until golden brown, add garlic, then stir in the remaining flour mixture.


Add chicken bone broth and bring to a boil.


Add the browned chicken, thyme, and bay leaf, coat with gravy, then transfer to the oven.


Bake until the chicken reaches 165°F internally. Adjust gravy thickness if needed, season, and serve with green onion garnish.
