Strawberry Frosted Cookies

Granulated Sugar Unsalted Butter Egg Yolks Vanilla Extract All-purpose Flour Cream of Tartar

In a large bowl, cream together sugar and butter until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, mix until combined. 


In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, baking soda, and cream of tartar.


Combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients to form dough. Scoop dough into 1 1/2-inch balls, place on baking sheet, and flatten to 1/2-inch thick with bottom of glass or measuring cup.


Bake for 9-10 minutes. After baking, swirl each cookie with a glass to shape and texture the top.


For strawberry icing, blend diced strawberries until smooth, then add butter, corn syrup, extract, and powdered sugar until thick.


Spoon icing over cooled cookies and allow to set before storing in an airtight container.
