Yeast Rolls

All-purpose flour Sugar Salt Instant yeast Vegetable shortening Eggs Melted unsalted butter

Combine dry ingredients (sugar, salt, 2 cups of flour, and yeast) in a large bowl, cut in 1/2 cup of solid vegetable shortening, then add eggs, remaining flour, melted butter, and water to form a lumpy dough.


Allow the dough to rest for 20 minutes, then knead, shape into a rectangle, and cut into squares.


Place in a greased baking dish, let rise for 20 minutes, and bake at 350°F for 25 minutes. Finish by brushing hot rolls with melted butter.
