Self-rising flourWhole milk or buttermilkVegetable shorteningSausageChopped green chilesShredded cheddar cheese

Cut shortening into the flour using a long-tined fork or pastry cutter, until well blended.


Add the cooked sausage, shredded cheese, and chiles to the flour mixture. Stir until combined.


Add in 3/4 cup of milk and stir well. Add in an additional 1/4 cup if needed.


Divide batter among 15 sprayed muffin cups. Bake at 400 for 15-20 minutes.
