Southern Cubed Steak and Milk Gravy

Milk Salt Pepper Flour Cube steak

Heat oil in a pan over medium heat, while coating 4 pieces of cubed steak in a mixture of 1 cup flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper; brown the steak on both sides in the pan.


Remove the steak and add 1/4 cup flour to the pan drippings, cooking until slightly browned, then slowly stir in 1 1/2 cups milk until thickened.


Return the steak to the pan, coating with gravy, and serve together or with mashed potatoes on the side.
