For The Tea
4black tea bagsor 2 tablespoons loose black tea
4cupsboiling water
¼cupgranulated sugaroptional, adjust to taste
For the Lemonade:
1cupfreshly squeezed lemon juiceabout 4–5 lemons
¾cupgranulated sugar

Instructions
Pour 4 cups of boiling water over the tea bags and steep for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and stir in sugar (if using) while the tea is still warm. Let the tea cool to room temperature.
In a pitcher, whisk together lemon juice, sugar, and 2 cups of cold water until the sugar is dissolved.
Combine equal parts cooled tea and lemonade (about 3 cups each) in a large pitcher and stir well.
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving. Pour over ice and garnish with lemon slices or mint leaves, if desired.
