Happens :). Now y’all leave a comment and enter and have a great day!

I just love the cornbread recipes, wish i had a skillet like that in my kitchen. Christy, just had to say i was in my local Publix grocer the other day, and of course i was reading one of The Southern Cakes Magazine. I was so happy and surprise when i saw your name in the magazine[smile]. I simply had to mention that. Thank You Christy!
Cornbread is a way of life… Thank you for all the encouragement and recipes that have love shining through them.
I truly love cornbread made in cast iron. I make all my cornbreads in a cast iron skillet. I just recently made a crawfish cornbread and it was wonderful.
Love cornbread and all these recipes look fantastic!
My grandmother always had cornbread ready. Love it!
When I moved my children “threw my 4 cast iron skillets away because they looked old” I went ballistic! Here I am digging through the dumpster and they were all gone! I wanted to knock them in the head not caring if they were in their 40’s I was o mad!! All the years of babying my pans– ” How will in ake cornbread??!!! How can I make my gravy for breakfast??!! ” I was heartbroken!!! That was 15 years ago and I went looking for cast iron skillets– garage sales– thrift stores–couldn’t find any!! I finally bought one at a store that said it was “pre-seasoned” ( right”!) so, I had to season and re- season and to this day-isn’t the same as my 40 years of my different sizes of skillets!! So, I just made cornbread the other night and FINALLY!! Had some good ole cornbread!! As I atè it I still wanted to take this skillet and knock my son over the head with it!!! And wouldn’t you know it– my son asked me for a cast iron skillet for Christmas!!!! I looked at him like he was nuts!! Of course, I had to REMIND him of what he had done to my skillets years before!!! ( So, like so good Mom, I got him one and put instructions on HOW to season it and how long it would take!!) anyway, after seeing this article, I was reminded of my skillets bring thrown away and years later I am finally able to make a pan of cornbread!!! I would LOVE to to win this skillet ( I had one like this before……) Thank You, Linda in VA.
Hi Linda…
Just wanted to say, though I would love to win the skillet – I really think it would be great if you won it! Kids don’t appreciate the old ways as much as we do. Lots of memories attached to those old iron skillets, pans, and pots. Good luck to you!
Linda
I love cast iron. I’ve been wanting one of these pans. Pick me! Pick me!
