In this video I’ll show you how to use a dehydrator to preserve frozen mixed vegetables for long period of time without taking up precious freezer space! At the end of the video, I also show you what the dehydrated vegetables look like once you reconstitute them and how easy that is to do!

I typed up the captioning for this video myself in order to make it closed captioned so be sure and click the little button in the bottom right if you’d like to “read” the video. For the record, in a ten minute time span, I spoke over 1879 words 🙂

Here is a link to my dehydrator since many of you have asked.

My family has really cut out tv a lot lately, almost down to nothing at all. In it’s place, we find interesting channels to subscribe to on Youtube! There is a lot of great educational and enriching material out there (not to mention cute cat videos), and it’s free! Be sure to subscribe to my Youtube channel by clicking here.  If you have young ones, check out my story time videos!

  1. Thanks so much for this post. As I type, I have 8 pounds of frozen peas & carrots going in my Excalibur. I would have never thought to do frozen veggies…..don’t know why…..guess I just didn’t think of it. So far I have done 5 pounds of corn, 3 1/2 pounds of broccoli as well as blueberries, spinach and mushrooms. Food Lion has a good deal on their name brand frozen veggies this week. One pound packages of “My Essentials” frozen veggies are 1.00. You have to purchase a minimum of four to participate in this offer and no more than 40 Food Lion items in one transaction. For each Food Lion or My Essentials item you purchase, you will get .25 back for each item purchased. I bought 30 items and got 7.50 back that I will use toward my next purchase. There’s not many vegetables that you can actually purchase for 1.00/lb anymore and certainly there is the already prepped component that is worth a lot to me. I appreciate all your hard work on this blog.

First I want to say, I’d love to be a close neighbor. I always smile when I read your site.

I’m getting to order the Excelsior that you have plus Pack of 9 Premium 14″ x 14″ Non-Stick Dehydrator Sheets.

Is there anything else that you use?

I want to order everything I need “Just like you” lol

Only problem is I’m 75, so as to energy, I”m falling WAY behind (litterly) lol
