I don’t do a lot of reviews on SouthernPlate, but when I find something that I feel is truly a game changer, you know I’m going to want to tell you about it! This new line of sauce and crust mix combos from The Good Table™ is one of those things!
You know those days where supper sneaks up on ya and you are tempted to hit a drive through? Would you believe that I fed the meal pictured above to my entire family for less than it would take us to eat “cheap” fast food? Yes, this healthy meal cost less than a drive through and guess what else? Prep took less than ten minutes for the entire meal, including the salad.
So let me show you how this works..
The first problem I always have when wanting to try out a new product is figuring out where to find it in the grocery store so I’m going to make this easy for ya. These meal kits are found next to the bread crumbs and cornbread mix stuff in my Wal Mart. The big thing that made me want to try this was the price tag, $2.48 is very affordable and I felt it was more than worth it for what you got and how fuss free the meal was.
And here are your ingredients: This box and chicken.
That’s it 🙂
The box contains a sauce and the breading mixture.
I just dipped my chicken in the sauce and then in the mixture before placing it on a greased baking sheet. The box has enough for 3-4 boneless skinless chicken breasts to be coated. I easily had enough for four.
I baked mine for about 30 minutes at 350 and to keep the meal simple, healthy, and quick, I added a simple salad as a side.
In no time flat we had a budget friendly meal suitable for a busy weeknight. The big surprise to me was the pop of flavor in every bite of this chicken. That sauce made a HUGE Difference and the breading itself has parmesan cheese and herbs in it so that complimented the sauce further. At this price point and for the convenience, I plan on keeping a couple of these kits in my pantry.
The current flavors offered in these sauce and breading mixes are: Parmesan & Herb, Crunchy Thai Peanut Chicken, Southwest Tortilla Chicken, and Lemon & Herb Fish. I picked up the Crunchy Thai Peanut Chicken mix when I got this one and plan on trying it soon!
For this recipe, simply follow the instructions on the box.
Have a great week!
