No Churn Cherry Vanilla Ice Cream has the old fashioned flavor we remember from our childhoods without all of the work! No Churn Candied Cherry Vanilla Ice Cream

I dearly love cherry vanilla ice cream and this one is right on the money! The best part, though, is that you don’t need an ice cream freezer! Just mix it up, spread it into a pan, and place in your regular freezer in your kitchen. The recipe is below and you’ve got to taste it to believe it! Steps To Make No Churn Candied Cherry Vanilla Ice Cream

To make this, you’ll need: Heavy Cream, Sweetened Condensed milk, Vanilla, and a cup of Candied Cherries, chopped*.

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat heavy cream with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form.
  2. Pour in sweetened condensed milk and vanilla and stir by hand until incorporated.
  3. Spoon half of this into a freezer safe container (I’m just using a Pyrex loaf pan here) and top with half of the chopped candied cherries. Swirl with a knife just a bit. Top with the remaining ice cream mixture and the remaining cherries and swirl once more.

*See recipe card at bottom for substitution option.

  1. Looks wonderful and I’d like to try it. My cherry trees are loaded this year. I wonder if there is a way i could use them instead of the candied cherries. maybe I could candy them. My grandmother used to make ice cream in the freezer similar to this, but she didn’t have condensed milk. She did whip cream. Wish I knew what she used. Thank you.

  2. My Mom introduced me to a variation on this called, I think, White House Cherry ice cream by one of the big local ice cream sellers where I grew up (UDF in SW Ohio). It has chocolate chips added to the mix, and it is a really nice combination! I would never have chosen to get it myself, but for her to give it such a big endorsement – since she wasn’t a big fan of ice cream or any dessert, for that matter – I thought I should at least try it, and I was won over! I think almonds, or chocolate-covered almonds, come to that, would also be a nice swap-in with those cherries!

I always want to try making ice cream but am scared away by recipes that require egg yolks, cooking, etc. for fear I’ll mess them up. This looks so easy and approachable, I can’t wait to try it. I love cherry vanilla ice cream but haven’t had it in years. Thanks for sharing!

  4. This looks so delicious! I am wondering if fresh cherries can be substituted for the candied ones?
