In this video I’ll show you how to use a dehydrator to preserve frozen mixed vegetables for long period of time without taking up precious freezer space! At the end of the video, I also show you what the dehydrated vegetables look like once you reconstitute them and how easy that is to do!

I typed up the captioning for this video myself in order to make it closed captioned so be sure and click the little button in the bottom right if you’d like to “read” the video. For the record, in a ten minute time span, I spoke over 1879 words 🙂

Here is a link to my dehydrator since many of you have asked.

My family has really cut out tv a lot lately, almost down to nothing at all. In it’s place, we find interesting channels to subscribe to on Youtube! There is a lot of great educational and enriching material out there (not to mention cute cat videos), and it’s free! Be sure to subscribe to my Youtube channel by clicking here.  If you have young ones, check out my story time videos!

  1. What a wonderful idea. I do dehydrate herbs but never thought of frozen vegetables. Once the frozen vegetables are dehydrated and canned, what is the shelf life of the cans?

  2. I have a round dehydrator, it was pretty cheap but it works. I did not know you could use frozen vegetables to dehydrate. I think I will try this. Great way to save freezer space.

  3. Can I dehydrate fruits from the freezer the same way? I have berries, as well as cherries in big bags that are filling the freezer.

  4. Thank you for this wonderful idea! I have had a dehydrator for years but don’t use it so much anymore. I never thought about dehydrating frozen items. I have such a small freezer, this will be fantastic for me. I’ going to take my frozen vegetables out right now and get my dehydrator started. .

  5. Thanks for this post! I’ve wanted a dehydrator for years (after borrowing my brother’s Excalibur for a while) and today I did it, I ordered myself one. You should be on commission for Excalibur ;-). Watch out world, all of us “Southern Plate-ers” are going to dry you…veggie by veggie, fruit by fruit!

  6. As someone else asked about dehydrating fresh peas, can you do the same with fresh corn and green beans?
