  1. Hi Christy! I am just now, on September 16th, finding the time to start watching your vlogs from May 2015. At the time you were putting the videos on your site, I was in a job which consumed way too much of my time, often spilling over into my home/family life, therefore I didn’t have the time to sit and listen. Things have changed since that time, and I have some more free time, so I figured I’d listen to your videos; better late than never, right? Anyway, I really wish you WOULD teach character education! Heaven knows our society could glean some benefit from a class like that. I can’t help but think how much better off, we as a culture, would be if we could get rid of the “ME,ME,ME” mindset that has pervaded our society. It’s ironic how we have become so me-oriented, but show so little respect for ourselves through our behavior. Narcissism is becoming an epidemic. It astounds me, how, through technology’s advances, we have become so sophisticated, but revert back to caveman ways socially. It seems like nobody makes eye-contact anymore, nobody answers emails or phone calls, some show no discretion whatsoever in what they are putting out there for others to see, read, or hear on social media, and everyday, people are being rewarded for behaving badly; I’m sure you get the point. I can honestly say that reading your posts has affected my life in a positive way. I am still working on being a better person too, and it can be a real uphill climb some days! I’ll make a deal with ya……If you decide to make it a reality, I will be the first one in line to sign up for that class. You never know, maybe you’ll start a movement.

  2. Christy.. I have also been meaning to thank you for doing the Vlog in May Challenge. I enjoyed your daily chats so much. You are so real and down to earth. It was like I was like sitting right next to you on your deck and enjoying a nice cold glass of tea. I am old enough to be your mother and so enjoy your wisdom and fun spirit. I have a 14 year old grandson so I am repeating the teen years all over with him. Did you get your pool situation straightened out?

Looking forward to your vlogs this month.

Enjoy your summer with your children.

  3. Hey there Christy,
I just wanted to leave a little comment as the Vlog Challenge for May comes to an end. I have enjoyed them all so much. It’s always so good to hear from you in videos, but these were so special and so much more personal. I felt like I was sitting out there on that porch with you as I watched them.
Thank you for doing this and sharing so much of yourself with all of us. You are such an inspiration.
    Love you!

  5. Message two from me, smiley. (I don’t know how to make those emoticon things appear so I usually write them out). lol. Anyway, I wanted to comment about movies also. Yes, I went and saw Into the Woods with a friend of mine shortly before I moved several months back. I had remembered it was a musical but having said that, I had forgotten how scary and disturbing many of the themes were. I can’t fathom why they would have marketed that movie to kids either. I mean, there were two child characters, Little red riding hood and Jack and the beanstalk but that did not make it a kids movie. That’s very creepy that disney would promote the movie as kid friendly since it clearly follows the lines of actual fairy tales which were often extremely thematically disturbing in content. This is not a kids movie either but the last movie I saw was excellent. It was the movie adaptation of the novel, Still Alice. Julianne Moore’s performance was incredible. She portrayed a linguistics professor with early onset alzheimers. The novel was wonderful too. As for actual kids movies, I will have to ask my sister what my nieces and nephews are watching lately aside from frozen which remains a favorite. I am glad Cinderella was good. The fairy tale themed movies I saw were: Mirror, Mirror, Snow white and the Hunts man and Melifiscent. I liked all three of those but, again, more for adults than kids to me, anyway.

  6. Hi Christy, I wanted to comment because the last video I saw was the one where you were catching up after traveling and were answering ten questions in a row. During that video, you mentioned that you were looking for people’s thoughts on what kinds of sleeping bags were good to get because you were looking to buy some for your family. I personally still have the one my parents got me years ago, I think when I was a teenager. I am fairly certain it’s from L.L. Bean. I’ve had it for like, twenty years at this point I believe and still use it whenever I need a sleeping bag for whatever reason. It’s purple with a yellow interior. Hope this helps.
