I was making a big breakfast for some family we had over a week or so ago. So, the night before I asked my husband if he would go to the store and pick up a bag of flour for the biscuits. He came home with….gasp…another brand!! I’ve been buying White Lily for years, so I made him go back to the store and get the correct brand. Bless his heart! But I just refuse to use anything else. My mamaw and mama used it…so that’s what i use!!
How I wish supermarkets in the Midwest carried White Lily. Have seen this product used in many recipes or at least recommended.
As a North Carolina girl my best memories are of buttermilk biscuits with Country ham and redeye gravy! The best biscuits were made with pure lard and white lilly flour! Maybe you have to be southern to understand this style of eating, but that was the ultimate in YUM!!!
White Lily is the ONLY flour for cakes, pastry, cookies, biscuits and anything else you want to be “light” and delicious! I use nothing else. I like it because it doesn’t have cornstarch in it, yet you can substitute it for cake flour anytime.
