homemadeJuly marks the one year anniversary of SouthernPlate.com and I want to thank you so much for all that you have given me! Southern Plate began as a hobby when I had a little free blog and decided to post some recipes, which then made the front page of the host site. I told my husband one day, “I bet if I got my own domain I could get five hundred readers!”.

During our First Year SouthernPlate.com received:

Over 18 Million Page views

Over 11,557 Comments

Woohoo!!! Do you know what this means? We’re all one step closer to my goal of feeding the ENTIRE WORLD homemade banana pudding! World Peace is close at hand, I’m tellin’ ya! Here are a few other accomplishments from the past year.

  • Asked to blog for AL.com, Alabama’s largest website
  • Became Southern Foods Expert for The FOOD Mag, with Southern Plate recipes featured on their website as well as in upcoming issues.
  • Kraft Singles sent me to L.A. to help promote the Grilled Cheese Invitational (Limos all the way!)
  • Invited to be a guest on the Darla Shine Show (The fastest-growing syndicated talk show in the US) twice!
  • Sponsored by Hamilton Beach, Pioneer Brand, Wilton, Southern Beauty Magazine, and others!
  • Became a member of the RGN and Divine Caroline Network
  • Twitter Following topped 4000+!
  • Over ten thousand email and RSS subscribers
  • And many awards and honors I earned over the years.

Just this past month alone, SouthernPlate.com had almost three million page views!

I am so very grateful to everyone. I know I say that a lot but I think it far more often than I say it so consider yourself lucky!

Gratefully,

  1. Hi Christy.
I so enjoyed reading the article about you in the July 15, ’09 Madison Spirit section of The Huntsville Times! Had no idea of your location but I have been enjoying Southern Plate for several months! But…..I ran out first thing this morning to find, Quilter’s Combo to buy your book, was not located at the address listed in the article? Is it hidden, did I overlook it? I was really looking forward to getting my hands on it! I am a collector with over 2000 cookbooks and feel I must have yours, it’s my kind of cookin’! Native of this area and understand what you are talkin’ ’bout! Please let me know if I overlooked the location? I will run out again ASAP when I hear where it is. Congratulations on your success!

    1. Hey Sue! Thank you so much! It is a little hidden. The shopping center it is in is L shaped, with a gas station on the front left corner if you are facing the shopping center. You have to go to the left of the gas station, down the little hill, and Quilter’s Combo is located on that back side. You’ll see a sign as you go down the hill on your right, it’s up on the building. I am so sorry you had problems and thrilled to hear you have been reading SP already!

      1. OK Christy, I understand now! Hope they still have some cookbooks tomorrow, I’m going first thing! I am aware that shopping complex is a bit difficult and forgot about looking to the laft of the gas station. I sure gave it a good going through today, round and round! Should have stopped and inquired at one of the shops there. Knew I could order it but want it NOW!!!!
        Many thanks, Sue

Thank you Christy for all the time and love you put into Southern Plate. May you , Ricky, Brady and Katy have the most wonderful things in life.

Happy Anniversary Southern Plate and Christy. 😀

  4. Congratulations on your one year anniversary. My favorite dessert recipe so far has been the Banana Crumb Cake. It’s wonderful. Thanks for sharing!
