Why you should never ask an engineer how big your pantry is…

It was an innocent request, honest. I just wondered what the measurements of my pantry were. I had asked my husband a few times and he kept forgetting so before I headed off to bed I shot him a quick email because I knew he’d be working on his computer later and see it.

I woke up this morning to find this in my inbox…

  1. My sister how a boyfriend who was kind of a brainiac. My Uncle described him as the kind of fellow “if you ask him what time it is, he’ll tell you how to make a clock”! 😉

  2. Oh Christy….being that I know your husband from ‘CAD world’ this cracked me up. I’ve never laughed so hard in all my life. Please tell him this brought me great joy but I really hoped to see some FEA at the end. ha ha ha ha ha I’m married to one too so I completely understand.

  3. My husband is an engineer too and apparently hatched from the same egg as Ricky. 🙂 I wanted new office furniture for the house and he emailed me a to scale drawing of one (very near) rectangular room. He then laid out the furniture to scale… it all looked very nice. Needless to say… the furniture fits and I love my new home office. Too bad we live so far away because our husbands would get along great. 🙂

  4. This is just way too funny! My husband is a self-made handy man but requires perfection of himself AND anyone else who chooses to “help.” I’m right there with poster, Charlene,…and honey, it doesn’t get any better. After 19 years of marriage, he STILL expects me to paint just like him or it isn’t “done right.” LOL! This was such a funny post. Thanks, Christy!
