Answering Your Questions

Last week I asked if anyone had questions they’d like me to answer on Facebook. I got some GREAT questions and really appreciate you taking the time to ask them. I did a series of videos (I think I ended up with seven or eight of them) and I thought I’d bring you a couple every now and then. This is the first installment so when you see me mention searching on the site to find the others, just ignore me 🙂
Celebrity Chef Question, Most Pinch Yourself Moment, etc

This video is me answering diet questions, what my favorite utensils are, etc.

  • If you’d like to ask a question you can leave it in the comments section below and I’ll try to get to it in future videos
  • This past summer I did a series of live blogging question and answer videos with the facebook family as well. To see all of them in one post, please click here.

  1. Christy – if I had $100 I would spend the whole amount on cookbooks – I love nothing better than to buy a new cookbook and sit down with a cup of coffee and read the whole book cover to cover . . . what a luxury that would be!

    1. I was the exact same way before I started Southern Plate!
When Southern Plate started taking off, I quit reading all cookbooks and cooking magazines. I’ve missed them! I also don’t watch cooking shows and such on tv.
I just don’t want to inadvertently end up copying someone and I also try to focus on putting the old timey family recipes out there as much as I can.
but I used to be just like you – SUCH good reads!!!!!

  2. Christy, you make me laugh and cry and grin so big that my cheeks hurt! I’m a southerner (born in southern Alabama) who has lived up north for a very long time. As I read your blogs, and now watch your videos, I always feel like I am back home again. You are a sweetheart!

  3. Christy, I was surprised at your answer about which food celebrity would you like to work with? I thought for sure you would say Paula Deen since you had a quote from her on your book. I think you both cook very similarly. I love your website and all the delicious recipes I’ve tried.

  4. Sweet Christy, I have looked all over and still can’t find the name of your first cookbook. I’d love to have a copy. Do you know if it’s still available somewhere?

  5. you make me smile, you remind me of my own daughter, I send her your emails all the time. fixing to send her this one.

  6. I agree with the previous poster..Miss Christy you really are an incredible person and truly have a gift! You are an excellent role model to young people like me (I’m in college and also love to write 🙂 ) because you put family first no matter what and stay grounded. My family is also the most important thing to me and I love nothing better than to be home, even though I’m away at school. Speaking of which, I turn 21 this month and guess what I’m asking my mama for? A slow cooker! lol Which kind of slow cooker do you recommend?
Best wishes to you and your family,
    Darby
