Cheese Soup – Customize Each Bowl!

Hey friends! I’m so excited to be bringing you a recipe that my kids are excited to share today, courtesy of Borden® Cheese! This Cheese Soup is one of my kid’s favorite meals. They love that everyone can customize the flavor of their own bowl and they also love to make it as a family, which makes supper even more fun!

cheese soup ingredients

The Ingredients You’ll Need to Make this Cheese Soup recipe are:

  • Borden® Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • Butter, Heavy Cream (or milk)
  • Onion
  • Chicken Broth
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Paprika

Note: It is best not to use pre-shredded cheese for this as it won’t melt as well as the block cheese will.

brady and katy cooking

While Brady handles the cheese grating, Katy is getting started with the first step over on the stovetop.

I am specifically using Borden® Cheese here because it is delicious, all natural, and is made by a cooperative of over 8,000 family owned dairy farms across the United States. The cheeses they offer include: Mild Cheddar, Mozzarella, Mexican, Swiss, Sharp Cheddar, American, Colby Jack, and more. They are available in singles, shreds, chunks, slices, strings, and snacks! This is creamy, flavorful, delicious cheese made in our homeland and it just makes every dish better.

  1. Love love love!! You are doin a great job not only here but as a servent for our Lord! Love ya Christy girl! Blessings sweetie!!

  2. It is just my husband and I and we always sit at the dining room table for dinner. He used to wait to eat dinner when I did not get home from work until 9:00 pm so I did not have to eat alone. Our 9 year dog has a melt down if the family does not sit down by 6:00 pm for dinner at the table.

  3. We love soups and anything with cheese is something that we will try. Look forward to cooking this.

  4. Supper is our sit down meal and Cheese Soup is one of my favorite things. Always thought it was harder to make but I will have to make this one. Looks wonderful and I love that you can throw other things in it to make it your own.

  5. Sitting down for a meal with your family is the best way to catch up on everything that is going on in each other’s lives! Such a great challenge and a pleasure to complete.
