With Easter coming up, I wanted to share with you a recipe sure to be a favorite in Southern Hearts (if it isn’t already), Pimento Cheese Biscuits. If you’re anything like us, come Spring you’re ready for light flavors, pastel colors, and all of the other wonderful fresh flavors of the season. With Easter right around the corner, today’s recipe would make a perfect addition to your spring holiday brunch – with a delicious old South twist!
Let’s meet our star ingredient: Price’s Southern Style Pimento Cheese
Anyone who has been with me a while knows that I’m a fan of pimento cheese. I even have two recipes for it on my site, so when I had an opportunity to check out Price’s Southern Style Pimento Cheese, I jumped at it. Oh my, this cheese makes my taste buds happy. Price’s is made with real mayonnaise and real cheese – you can even see big chunks of cheese in it. It looks just like my homemade pimento cheese and tastes like my Grandmama made it.
So now we are going to gild the lily by making biscuits with Southern Style Pimento Cheese baked right into the dough for a distinctly Southern flavor that pairs perfectly with Easter ham.
To make this recipe, you’ll need: Baking Mix*, Milk, Garlic Powder, and Price’s Southern Style Pimento Cheese.
*I am using my Hearty Oat Baking Mix but you can just use Bisquick if you like.
Place all ingredients into a medium mixing bowl.
Using a spoon, stir together really well until full blended.
Dump dough out onto floured surface and sprinkle with more flour.
Knead this a few times by pressing into a ball and then flattening slightly and repeating.
Pat it out to about 1/2 inch thickness with your hands and then cut with a biscuit cutter.
See those little Pimentos peeking out of the dough? This biscuit dough makes my heart smile.
Place these on a greased baking pan and bake at 400 for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly browned. Allow to cool a bit before removing from pan.
Serve on their own, topped with a spread of butter, filled with ham, or with even more Pimento Cheese!
You can find Price’s Southern Style Pimento Cheese at Publix right now and more grocery stores, soon! It’s the only Pimento Cheese I’ve found in stores that tastes like homemade – because it is made like homemade.
