Southern Coca-Cola Pie

This easy Coca-Cola chocolate fudge pie is rich, decadent, and packed with a bold chocolate flavor. Made with classic Coca-Cola, it’s the perfect Southern dessert for holidays, potlucks, or whenever you want to show off just a little!

There is absolutely nothing like a cold Coca-Cola out of a glass bottle on a hot summer’s day. Nothing. As much as we love our “coke”, Coca-Cola Cake is a classic that has been a favorite for generations!

Now we need to add our layer of ganache. This will add a little extra indulgence and create a nice protective layer on top of our filling.

Recipe FAQs

Coca-Cola pie tastes like a deliciously rich and fudgey chocolate pie. The coke flavor isn’t very strong.

Yes, the coke bubbles act as a leavening agent, helping cakes like my Coca-Cola cake to rise and become all light and fluffy.

This Coca-Cola pie recipe is not the same as water pie. This is a chocolate pie with chocolate ganache. Meanwhile, a water pie is a creamy buttery pie literally made from water. Water pie has risen in popularity again recently thanks to TikTok, with people substituting water for a soda like Sprite and Coca-Cola. But this isn’t what this particular recipe is about.

  1. Christy, Do you have a recipe for Spoon Candy? Jello used to have one but the one I’m looking for is made with syrup or molasses. A friend used to make it but didn’t have a recipe. She was a great cook who did a lot of “a spoonful of this and that or a handful of something. I do that myself so I can understand how she makes it without measuring. She’s a Cajun from S. Louisiana and she learned from her mom.

I would love to find the recipe. The candy is yummy!!!

  2. I made the Coke Pie both ways– with a dough pie crust and with the graham cracker crust. I was confused because the recipe ingredients list says you need to bake and cool the crust, then the directions say “pour into graham cracker crust”. I hadn’t read the comments or I would have known that either crust was good. After using both crusts with the recipe and gaining weight, I preferred the G. C. Crust.
Thanks for your recipe! I love to cook and love new recipes to try.

By the way, I live in West Monroe, LA. Coke and Delta airlines used to have Monroe as their home offices.

  3. Thank you so much for featuring my Farmer’s Daughter Cake, you made my weekend! Have a great one!

  4. Hi Christy,
I love all your recipes & sometimes I need to print them. Recently I have noticed they don’t print anymore. When I select your print recipe button it goes to the print screen & then automatically goes back to previous screen. When I select my print button I get a blank screen. This has been happening to me since you had to redo your server. Any suggestions? I’m dying to try the Coca Cola Pie.

    1. Hey Patsy! First of all, I’m sorry you’re having problems. This is generally something that is an issue on ios devices, most commonly ipads. In other cases it has to do with pop ups being blocked but if folks go to a computer it is usually fixed. I would love it if you could give me more details so I can look into it further. Specifically, what device (or devices) are you using when you try to print? What internet browser do you use?
      Thank you!
