I’m excited to share this ridiculously good recipe for crock pot chicken tetrazzini with you today. It’s become a favorite supper in my household filled with creamy noodles and delicious chicken to look forward to. The teenagers in my family in particular go gaga for it, which I don’t mind because it’s so easy to make!

Like, it’s nearly too easy? All you need to do is add all of your ingredients to the slow cooker and in 3 to 7 hours (depending on your preferred setting), your slow cooker chicken tetrazzini will be ready. Serve it on a bed of cooked pasta and you’re set for an amazing weeknight supper.

Now, this is an easy chicken tetrazzini recipe with a Southern twist. Because chicken tetrazzini is naturally creamy, we’re using cream of chicken soup (a Southern favorite), cream cheese, and butter to get that quintessential creamy texture. What other ingredients do you need? Just some chicken breast, minced garlic, and Italian dressing mix (another Southern favorite because we love a good shortcut).

Keep scrolling for serving suggestions and ideas, but it isn’t creamy chicken tetrazzini without pasta, right? Add a side of garlic bread and you’ll win over your entire family. Ready to go?

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days and reheat them in the microwave. Because of the cream cheese, I don’t recommend freezing leftovers.

Recipe Notes

  • Want to add some veggies? Opt for 1 diced onion, 2 cups of frozen peas, and/or 2 cups of sliced mushrooms.
  • If you add mushrooms, you might even like to use cream of mushroom soup instead.
  • If you can’t get your hands on Italian salad dressing mix, Italian seasoning works in a pinch.
  • You don’t have to use skinless chicken breast in this recipe. Any leftover chicken will work, including rotisserie chicken.

Recipe FAQS

How do you serve crock pot chicken tetrazzini?

Serving creamy chicken tetrazzini over the cooked pasta of your choice is the most popular option. Opt for any type of long noodles, like spaghetti noodles, egg noodles, fettuccine, or even zoodles. I also like to add a serving of garlic bread.

If the cream cheese isn’t enough cheese for you, go ahead and serve it with shredded mozzarella cheese or parmesan cheese and a garnish of chopped fresh parsley.

  1. Last night I cooked this entree on the stovetop using already cooked leftover turkey breast. I cooked the garlic – and a chopped onion I added – in butter in a skillet. I added all the other ingredients , stirred, and cooked it until heated through. It was delicious and my husband had seconds.

The smell in my kitchen is to die for. Problem I found is very little liquid in the cooker. Because of time I had to use the high cook method. Wasn’t sure if I was supposed to add the required liquids to the soup and Italian dressing so I omitted. Was I correct in doing this ?

    1. Christy,
I just took a walk. Thank you for encouraging me to do that. It made me feel so much better. And I can’t wait to make this recipe.

  4. Christy, this is an excellent recipe! I’ve made it multiple times and will continue rotating it in our menus. YUM! I do make a couple of adjustments due to an MSG sensitivity in the family, though. Classico Alfredo sauce for the soup (it’s a brand which doesn’t add MSG) and I make my own Italian Dressing (dry) mix from a recipe I found on the web. I keep a container of that stuff around, because it’s good in other stuff, too. Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe with all of us!

  5. Very well said Christy and a wonderful post. My daughter and I have more many years in the evening ended our Bible reading by reading Psalms 91, it was a favorite of my minister father who is gone but not forgotten and I have read recently that many other folks have started reading it as well. We believe that it gives us all great comfort. Please stay safe and remember my daughter and I pray for everyone in this big world every day. with much love and prayers,Anita and Kay.
